One year later.....
This year has been strange but pleasant suprise. Alarick fit right in with our group. He spared with Robb and Theon, but he could not stand to be around Theon. It took a bit longer for Loras because he speak the first few weeks around Robb and Theon but got so fed up with Theon he came to practice with us and found that it was a lot more pleasant.
He still interacted with Robb but gave Theon a wide birth with him proudly going around about how great his people are, and I took joy in reading him of what they really are.
Robb tried to support Theon, but it was difficult when someone talked about the truth to bring someone back down to the group.
This is the year father agreed to let me visit and staff at Mount Catlin, and I am excited. We had gotten permission from Lord Selwyn Tarth and Lord Tyrell to join me for the next two years . My father was surprised that we had managed that, but he was sending one hundred men with us for protection, I was not going to say anything as it made him feel better.
He knew I was recruiting for Mount Cailin, but I had not told him that I had over fifteen thousand men and women training.
I had been recruiting from everywhere in the North and South, inviting them for a better life. A lot of my army were baseborn childernand I welcomed them, their family's were given other job's and encouraged to set up business , and that brought in some Essos merchants to my new keep as well.
We gained blacksmiths and farmers, among many other trades. We set up reason rates for them to buy the property if they had not the money right away. The taxes were always reasonable. The accommodation was more than many had ever had.
I also made sure that while Mount Cailin was being built, I made sure that sewage systems were built into every building, including the wall, as well as the system hot water to warm the walls in winter.
To the dismay of my group, I also purchased a thousand unsullied amd once they arrived freed them but offered them a place with me as free men.
They chose to stay with me, once I told them were to go and what to do till I arrived the set off.
My friends were impressed, and you could tell on Brie face that she wanted to spar with them.
Things were coming along nicely, I got into some trouble a few months back, and the Sept in Winterfell burnt to the ground. No one was able to find the culprit, but the Septon also vanished.
The people whispered that the old gods had finally had enough and burnt it. They were not completely wrong because I could them angrily whisper when I go to pray.
My father suspected it was me, but there was no proof, so he had to let it go.
He told Catelyn that he would not build another, but she was welcome to worship in her private chambers.
No one cared for her tantrums, but we did feel sorry for my father. Loras still worshipped the Seven but did so in private and respected our choice. Brienne of Tarth surprised us all by converting to the old gods. She tole they had done more for her than the Seven ever did.
She has drawn the eye of many a northern man since.
Another note worthy mention, with the designs I had made and working with the Manderleys, we had built faster ships, along with a port of Karstark Island. We also built current 4 flag ships, updated with cannon like guns. We took down over 23 grey joy ships and then took what was left to put towards our ships. We also got rid of the pain that was Euron Greyjoy, I also made sure that we got the dragon horn as well as the Valyrian armour.
We had a special bladesmith on lone from Bravvos who can truly work this metal, I knew where we could get more, so I recently entered the five year contract for keep him but he did make me two sets daggers out of it and a 3 swords, it was a lot of metal and went a long way.
