After a couple days of traveling, the three of you were constantly being attacked by enemy stand users. Every battle you were instructed to get away— but the last battle you had no other option but to get involved. Due to this, Gyro suggested it was best for you to separate from him and Johnny to avoid you getting hurt.

The next morning, you decided to continue your journey on your own. Although, you would've rather had stayed with them.

As you traveled through the wilderness, the path led you to a small town. You dismounted Lady Luck, taking a moment to stretch your legs. There was citizens out and about in the town.

"Y/N, fancy meeting you here."

Startled, you turned around to see Diego Brando on horseback. You hadn't heard his approach, and his sudden presence caught you off guard.

"Diego, it's been a while," you replied, surprised but not unwelcoming.

He reined in his horse, dismounting with a grin. "You can say that again. So, what's the story? Going solo again?" He chuckled.

You sighed, recounting your recent separation from Gyro and Johnny. "We disbanded because of all the stand fights. It's too dangerous, and they didn't want me involved."

Diego leaned on his horse and listened. "Sounds like either they didn't want to carry you along or that Gyro and Johnny weren't good protection for you."

You chuckled a bit, "Well I don't blame them, I wasn't much help."

Diego smiled softly, "I see. Well, here's a thought, how about you team up with me again? Since my plan is already getting put in motion by my subordinate, I could team with you again. Plus, I think I'm a better protector than Gyro if we do get in a battle."

You considered his offer, the two of you were quite a dynamic team. With a nod, you agreed, "Alright, sure. I'd appreciate that."

He smiled, genuine warmth in his eyes. "Great, let's set up camp in this town for the night."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, you and Diego found shelter in a small house. The air inside was chilly, so you decided to set up a fireplace to fight off the cold.

While Diego finished setting the fireplace, you removed your coat, Diego spoke up. "Y/N, I don't recall you having that coat. Where did you get it?"

You sat near the fireplace as you wrapped your arms around yourself. "Gyro gave it to me."

Diego's brows furrowed slightly, and a hint of suspicion crept into his eyes. "Gyro, huh? You two have gotten quite close."

You shrugged, feeling slightly awkward. "We've been through a lot together."

Diego handed you a plate of hot food, food that the citizens of the town had prepared. You and Diego shared a quiet meal and sat by the fireplace.

A knock was heard on the door and you quickly looked at Diego, he sighed and stood up. He walked over to the window to peak out, "Oh, it's just a citizen."

You continued to eat your food as Diego opened the door. After a couple seconds, Diego comes back with a bottle of wine. "They brought a bottle of wine for us."

You nodded, "How sweet. We have no cups though."

Diego managed to opened the bottle, "We can drink straight from the bottle!" He said with a smile as he took a swig and passed it to you.

He then reached into his bag and pulling out the L/N Jockey Journal. "Y/N, I want to return this to you. It's a family book and I'm not officially part of your family. I felt a bit uncomfortable adding an entry to it."
