The Future in a Flash

"Chandler, come on!" My roommate Brooke was yelling from our living room/kitchen. "We're going to be so late! Conner is going to kill us if we don't pick him up."
I pulled on my converse. "Chill we have an hour. We have plenty of time to pick up Conner and stop at Big Belly Burger before we go to the concert."
"But it's Tyler's band!" Tyler was her boyfriend and they were in the "I'm obsessed with you phase".
"Okay I am ready. Let's go." We ran out the door. Clouds we developing over head and I suddenly regretted my fashion choices. I was wearing Tyler's band tee that Brook forced upon me, a pair of skinny jeans, and a hoodie that was to thin for comfort. She practically pulled me out to her car.
"So Chandler, are you and Conner going to get together?" She asked.
I rolled my eyes. "No ,B, we aren't."
"What ever you say..." She replied.
Within five minutes Conner was in the back of the car complaining about the lack of coffee in his system.
"I don't understand why we don't go to Jitters too. We still have forty five minutes until the show." He said, crossing his arms.
I shivered. Coffee sounded nice.
"Chandler, if your cold why didn't you wear a warmer jacket?" Conner asked.
"Because Brooke rushed me. I was going to get my leather jacket but no." I said turning up the heat.
"I don't like the looks of the sky." Conner said. I had turned a shade darker. "B, pull over."
"We're fine I'm a very careful driver I think-"
"Brooke watch out!" I screamed.
A bolt of lightning hit fifty feet in front of us. Then suddenly, the sky seemed to shutter and another bolt of lightning came straight at the car. Brooke screamed, Conner yelled my name, and then everything went dark.
