Aelina had been in her driver's room for a good amount of time, she knew she had to eventually go to the media pen to talk about the disaster that was her race, but she wasn't ready. Not yet.

This was the worst she had ever felt, after everything that went down in her personal life, racing was what she had. Racing was all that she had and watching that get taken away at this grand prix just made the negative thoughts in her head so much louder. Theo had stopped by to check on her, after which she made sure to lock her drivers room door not wanting anyone else to come see her, tears wouldn't stop falling. The third race of the season and all she had to her name were 4 points and after today's race Piastri also ended up with four points putting both of them in a tie. She was mad and she wished Max didn't stop her from hitting Piastri. But she was also kind of glad. She knew how the rage had impacted Max's early career. She looked at her phone beside her so badly wanting to check twitter and see what the world had to say but at the same time scared of what that would do to her already fragile mind space. A knock on her driver's room door snapped her out of her spiral.

"Mi hermanita, déjame entrar por favor." She recognized the voice of her brother but chose not to move. "Sé que estás ahí. Por favor, déjame entrar." Carlos continued knocking. "No, me dejes fuera, cariño." (my little sister, let me in please. I know you're in there, please let me in. don't lock me out, sweetheart.)

His voice was soft and comforting, and she remembered how he used to talk to her when they were still very young. Her mind going back to the sounds and smells of their home. And Aelina stood up opening the door to look at her older brother, still dressed in his Ferrari race suit and she broke down crying falling into his arms.

"Oh, mi dulce niña. Está bien. Tu hermano mayor está aquí ahora." Carlos rubbed her back as he moved them back into her driver's room and sat down with her, both sitting on the ground. Aelina just crying in his arms. (oh, my sweet girl. it's okay. your big brother is here now.)

"lo odio. odio tanto esto. es todo tan malo," Aelina cried. (i hate it. i hate this so much. it is all so bad.) Carlos just shushed and rocked her letting her cry as he continued to talk to her in his soft tone. At some point she felt the tiredness wash over her and before she knew it a heavy darkness took over.

When Aelina woke was took a darkness, but she felt the comforts of a duvet wrapped around her. She recognized the outline of her hotel room and let sleep take over her once again.
