PARIS. Oscar stirred awake, the soft light of dawn filtering through the lace curtains. He blinked the sleep away from his eyes, the familiar warmth of Aelina's body nestled beside him grounding him in the present moment. Her brunette hair spilled over the pillow, catching the first rays of morning light, and he couldn't help but smile at how she cuddled the blanket.

The room was quiet, save for the gentle hum of the city waking up beyond the window. Oscar turned his head to take in the view, a sight that still took his breath away each time he came to the city. The Eiffel Tower in clear view from the hotel window.

Oscar shifted slightly, careful not to disturb Aelina, but she stirred anyway. She stretched languidly, a contented sigh escaping her lips as she turned to face him. Her eyes, still heavy with sleep as they met his.

"Good morning cariño," she whispered.

"Good morning, my love," he replied, leaning in to brush a kiss against her forehead. "Did you sleep well?"

She nodded, nestling closer into his embrace. "I did. I'm just so glad we decided to bet on this little getaway."

Oscar smiled down at her.

They lay there for a while, simply enjoying the quiet intimacy of the moment. The world outside was beginning to stir. But in their cozy cocoon, time seemed to slow down.

Oscar traced lazy patterns on Aelina's arm, his thoughts drifting back to their first night they had spent in bed together. The way it just felt so natural to be in each other's arms. They were meant to be together.

"What's on your mind?" Aelina asked softly, her fingers gently caressing his cheek.

"I'm just thinking about how lucky I am," he said, his voice filled with genuine emotion. "Who would have thought? Oscar and Aelina," he chuckled.

Aelina's smile widened, and she turned so now she was fully facing him, she leaned close enough that their lips could touch. He watched her lean into him and was ready to go for a kiss when she pulled back. "Not me that's for sure," she said before jumping out of bed and rushing to the bathroom.
