A couple weeks later, it was time for the twins to head to Tokyo. They walked down the stations side by side, mindlessly chatting about the shock Eijun gave them when he showed up at each of their homes. Esumi walked beside Wakana quietly. Both females observed their friends interactions with one another. And they smiled.
"But I was totally surprised then!"
"Yeah yeah!"
"Coming over to my house all of a sudden and slapping me."
"My grandma thought you were a burglar and called the cops!"
"No way! That's normal!"
"Pouring his strength out for everyone...That's Eijun for you!" The group laughed at the comment.
Eijun blushed and scowled at his friend's teasing. "Shut up!" He yelled. Esumi glanced at Wakana and saw the brunette haired girl blushing.
'I wonder what happened when Ei-nii showed up at Wakana's place....?' Esumi thought as she stared at her friend in confusion. The group rounded a corner and the twins instantly recognized Takashima standing out in the front. Eijun gave a grin and Esumi waved. Takashima returned their silent greeting with a smirk of her own.
"Passenger riding the 3:03 train bound for Tokyo...The train is coming to the second..." The voice over the intercom was drowned out by the twin's loud mouthed grandfather.
"Eijun, if you feel like you're gonna give up, just call me alright? Then I'll send you some of my power!!" Grandfather laughed, pointing at his right hand. That was the hand that he usually slapped Eijun across the face. Esumi smiled, watching as her parents thank Takashima for giving the twins this chance.
"Write me some e-mail, okay? You too Esumi." Wakana told the twins.
"Good luck Ei, Esu!!"
"EI!!"
"ESU!"
"We'll work hard then." Eijun and Esumi smiled in unison. They were about to get on the train, but turned around one last time.
"IDIOTS! WHY ARE YOU CRYING?!"
"IF YOU CRY, IT'LL MAKE IT HARDER ON EI AND ESU!"
"S-sorry...it's just..I've always been a nuisance, Ei." One of their friends started. "My shoulders are weak...and I let the ball get past me. I'm such a crappy catcher. And I always thought...aren't I holding you back?"
"Nope!" Eijun replied without any hesitation.
"It's that kind of stuff, I kept running to third first!"
"And Akio here kept holding the bat the opposite way!"
"Yeah, but even so...Ei nor Esu never glared at us or anything..No matter what, even after we'd made an error. You'd turn around on the mound and encourage us loudly!"
"And Esu would call from behind that she'll save any ball for us, whether she has to run all the way to the other side!"
"Esu's the greatest defense!"
"When you two did that, you were so cool. Really! Even more than Ichiro or Matsui or anyone!"
"SO YOU'RE OUR HEROES!"
"The doors for Tokyo bound train will be closing..."
"Sorry we couldn't help at all...But you know..We just really wanted to play baseball with you guys more!" Their friends cried, smiles plastered on their faces. Eijun and Esumi were both shocked, but the doors closed.
Eijun pressed himself against the door, peering out the window to get a glimpse of his friends. They were running after the train with smiles and tears. They shouted encouraging things out to the twins, who heard them clearly. "BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO BE CHEERING FOR YOU TWO!! ALWAYS!!" Their friends called, reaching the end of the platform. The waved off the train, in which the Sawamura twins were enclosed on.
