Tanba was taken away to the hospital. Kataoka, as well as the other coaches, were gone. Everyone on the Seidou team was in clear agony or depression. It was a devastating that their Ace was injured just before the next tournament. Seidou members slowly packed up their equipment and cleaned up the fields. One by one, they left toward the dorms. Esumi was one of the last to leave. Fuji stood outside the gates waiting for her.
"Esumi-chan.." He questioned, placing a hand on his shoulder. She looked up at him with dull hazel eyes.
"Sorry...Fuji..I.." Esumi struggled to get words out. Fuji shook his head.
"It's fine." Fuji reassured, smiling. Esumi gave her best smile back, hugging her close friend tightly. Fuji didn't hesitate to hug her back. "Don't be so hard on yourself, okay?" He ordered jokingly.
"Shigeru?" Fuji looked away from Esumi. Standing a couple feet away from him and the younger Sawamura was Eijun. He still looked a bit stunned from what happened moments ago. But then again, he looked completely shocked to see a face that he hasn't seen since middle school.
"Yo, Sawamura." Fuji gave a little grin. Eijun made his way over.
"What are you doing here?" Eijun questioned. He saw that Fuji was, of course, with Esumi. So it wasn't hard to piece things together. Even for Eijun. "Did Esu call you to take her to the hospital?" Eijun clarified. Fuji nodded.
"Yeah." Eijun gave Fuji a look, asking silently for results. "It was, thankfully, only a tear." Fuji replied. Eijun sighed in relief.
"Thank gosh.." Eijun muttered. Esumi walked toward him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Eijun wrapped his left arm around her neck, pulling her close. "Thanks Shigeru." Eijun thanked.
"Anything for Esumi-chan." Fuji nodded. "Well, I should be getting back too. I have practice tomorrow. Give my condolences to your Ace." Fuji spoke, already walking away. Esumi and Eijun both waved Fuji off.
"Let's go." Eijun brought Esumi back to the dining hall. Already inside was the rest of the Seidou team. No heads turned to look at the twins that entered. There was obvious gloom hanging in the atmosphere. Esumi further buried her head into her brother's chest. She let Eijun lead her to an empty table, where they sat down together.
That night, dinner was eaten silently. After the very quiet dinner, everyone made their way toward their dorm rooms. Esumi took her brother's hand. "Can I-?" She asked unsurely. Eijun sighed.
"Esu, I don't think-" Eijun was cut off by Esumi's pleading. He knew that she didn't like to be alone when stressed. Because then, she'd start thinking. Then that would lead to even more stress and Esumi is already dealing with a lot by herself.
"Please..?" She tried again. Eijun already saw the pressure falling onto her shoulders. He saw how Esumi was about to cry, not knowing how to deal with everything that was going on.
"I'll try.." Eijun sighed. He let Esumi cling to him as he went toward his dorm room. It was just like when they were kids. Esumi was upon clingy, always following her older brother everywhere. The habit had stuck, obviously.
Eijun and Esumi made it to the dorm. Eijun knocked on the door, waiting for someone to answer. The door opened to reveal Kuramochi. "Why the hell are knocking Sawamura?" He asked. Then his eyes fell onto Esumi.
