Cars, Planes, and Changelings

Final Race

Chrys was running beside Doc as they made it to the speedway. She saw some cars looking at her with awe and curiosity, almost as if they saw her or heard of her before. Thankfully they were let in thanks to saying they were Lightning's pit crew.

The truck that took McQueen away was there trying to act like a pit crew and chief.

Everyone saw Lightning spin on the infield. "Hey kid you alright?"

Chrys stole, I mean borrowed a headset and placed it on Doc as he got on the crew chief podium. "I didn't come all this way to see you quit."

Chrys saw Lightning look over and waved with the others, spinning in a circle once.

"I knew you needed a crew chief, but I didn't know it was this bad." Chrys shook her head at Doc's sarcasm but was still happy to be there.

"Well, I didn't really have a choice. Mater didn't get to say goodbye." Mater then got close to the headset. "GOODBYYYE! Okay, I'm good."

McQueen then pulled into the pits and Fillmore made sure he was fueled up and Sarge made sure he was all good.

"Chrys, what about-?"

"My secret? Forget it. It's worth it to see you race."

Doc took over and gave Lightning a talking to. "Alright, if you can drive as well as you fix a road, then you can win this race with your eyes shut. Now get back out there."

McQueen raced off and back to racing.

Chrys then faced the crew. "Listen up everyone, we're in business! Luigi, Guido, we're going up against pro's, you're gonna have to be fast."

"They won't know what bit them!" Luigi slammed his tire down to show his point. "Good, everyone else be ready."

Chrys then faced the track, watching McQueen as Doc spoke to him through the headset. "Kid, you can beat these guys. Find a grove that works for you and get that lap back."

The other pit crews noticed the Changeling and Doc, they were staring in awe at the two. And the announcers started to speak over the loudspeakers.

"Darrell, it appears McQueen's got a pit crew. And look who he has for a crew chief, and assistant crew chief."

Chrys looked around to see the crowd cheering for the return of the Hudson Hornet, and for some reason for her.

"It seems the Rouge Hive's search for their lost princess is over."

"They know my hive." Some Changelings entered the pits behind Chrys and the crew. "Doc, keep the crew and McQueen sharp, I'll deal with our visitors."

Chrys approached the three, two were guards and the one in the middle was an albino queen. Her cores were a blood red along with her eyes. But she was smaller than Chrys. "Are you really Chrys, daughter of Queen Rouge?"

"I am."

"I'm Queen Ruby of the Rouge Hive. I'm your sister." Chrys looked closer at Ruby. She did have the same looks as her mother in body shape. "What happened to our mother?"

"When she left you behind, she was found and badly wounded. But the healers saved me before our mother died of her wounds." Ruby had tears in her eyes as she explained. She took off the small wire crown on her head and held it out to Chrys.

"You are the oldest, you're supposed to be queen." Chrys took the crown and placed it back on Ruby's head.

"No, I know nothing about running a hive, or being a queen. But you, my sister, have the experience and wisdom already. I see it in your eyes, mother would have wanted you to lead."
