Unusual Meeting - Kim Leehan

it was that time of year again where you and your friends decide to visit your local zoo.

the four of you were walking past the penguins when an all too familiar sign caught your attention.

'Aquariums'

you didn't even bother to let your friends know where you were going, because you knew they would find their way to you eventually.

you absolutely loved any kind of aquarium you came across, and could stare at fish for days.

your eyes were wide as you looked through all the colourful corals and eventually made your way over to your favourite fish.

the anemone fish, aka clownfish. nemo!

sure it was cliche to have a clownfish as your favourite, but they just looked so beautiful with their bright orange colour.

a soft sigh escaped your lips as you leaned closer to the tank and just stared as the fish swam around.

after what felt like hours, you finally looked away from the fish and moved onto the next one.

it was quiet in the aquariums area, since not too many people came through. but that silence was soon broken.

a group of six boys came walking in laughing and ruining the quiet atmosphere.

you almost rolled your eyes at the interruption but didn't want them to see so you turned and faced away from them.

their talking quietened down and most of the group left, except for one.

you watched as the boy put both hands in his pockets and looked at the ground.

you then made your way back over to the clownfish and looked into the tank.

there was two fish swimming next to each other and seemed to be stuck like glue.

a soft smile formed onto your face as you thought of all sorts of scenarios. they were a couple!

"they're cute, huh?"

a deeper voice suddenly spoke from your right, making you jump back and look over at the source.

it was the guy who was left here by his loud friends.

he saw how your eyes grew wide and a smile formed on his face making his eyes almost disappear.

how cute..

"the fish. they're cute, swimming next to each other"

his voice broke you out of your thoughts and you turned to look back at the tank, the two fish still swimming together.

"yeah.. they are"

your eyes kept moving back and forth from the tank and back over to the boy standing next to you.

"i'm sorry about my friends, by the way"

your gaze fixed on the boy and you turned your body to face him.

"are they always so loud?"

your voice came out before you could think about what you was saying.

the boy smiled once again and this time let out a laugh.

"always"

the two of you went silent again as you both stared back at the fish in front of you.

"i'm Donghyun, but you can call me Leehan"

the boy, Leehan, spoke again, this time holding out his hand for you to shake.

"this is very formal"

again, you spoke before thinking and he laughed once more.

"please shake my hand this is embarrassing"

the comfortable atmosphere between the two of you made you relax a bit and laugh before shaking the boys hand.

"nice to meet you Leehan, my name is-"

"y/n? oh, here you are!"

one of your friends had entered into the room, stopping once she noticed what she'd walked into.

"y/n, it's getting late we need to go"

looking back over at Leehan, you smiled once more before turning and walking towards your friend.

what you didn't notice was the smile that stayed on the boy's face even after you left.

"y/n.. pretty"
