"Kim y/n! care to share what's so important that you can't pay attention to my lesson?"

your teachers voice echoed over the whole classroom and your head shot up from you notebook, where you was so focused on drawing that you hadn't noticed him looking in your direction.

"oh, it's nothing, sir"

he let out a deep sigh and you could feel almost all of your classmates stares on you.

"this is the fifth time this lesson i have caught you not paying attention, stay behind tonight for a detention"

"but sir-"

suddenly the door to the classroom swung open and a boy hurriedly rushed inside. Lee Riwoo. his entrance made your teachers gaze turn towards him.

"and you, care to tell me why you're so late? my lesson is almost over"

"sir i'm sorry but-"

"detention"

a groan was heard from the teenager boy as he slumped down into his chair and closed his eyes tightly.

the school day very slowly came to an end and you were dreading walking into that detention room. not only was it your first ever detention, but you knew Riwoo would be in there too.

you had a huge crush on the boy, and didn't know how much longer you could keep it a secret for. you took a quick deep breath before opening the door to the classroom.

"y/n, take a seat"

you noticed that there was only one other person there. and that person was Riwoo. so you decided to take a seat a couple rows away where you could only see his side profile.

"i need to grab some paperwork from my office, both of you stay here"

you watched how Riwoo slid down in his seat and closed his eyes as the teacher left the room. you took this opportunity to do what you do best. sit in silence and draw.

you took out your notebook and a pencil before glancing back up at Riwoo, who's eyes were still closed. with a smile on your face you started to sketch the outline of his side profile.

yeah, this would definitely look weird if he caught you drawing him.. but he didn't have to know! he must've felt the staring after a while because his eyes suddenly opened and he looked over at you.

your eyes grew wide and you quickly flipped over the page to the small drawings you was doing in class earlier. the ones that got you into detention in the first place.

"what are you here for?"

he spoke to you with a soft voice. he would always use a softer voice when speaking to you compared to anyone else as school.

you sheepishly grinned and held up your notebook.

"drawing during class"

a soft smile made it's way onto the boys face as he stood up and made his way over to the desk next to yours. he then grabbed the chair and moved it closer so that he was sitting directly next to you.

"can i see?"

as much as you wanted to say no, you slowly flicked back to the beginning of your notebook and started showing him the many pages of drawings you had been doing over the past couple months.

"oh wow, you're really good"

you could feel your face grow warmer after his compliment, so you quickly showed the last of your drawings before attempting to close your notebook.

you purposely left out the most recent page, since you didn't want him to see the drawing of himself. but you wasn't quick enough, because he saw a slight glimpse of the drawing.

"oh, what was that last page?"

you slammed the notebook shut and smiled up at him nervously.

"that's uh.. a work in progress"

he tilted his head slightly with that smile still on his face. and just as he was about to speak again, your teacher entered back into the classroom.

"you two, sit apart"

Riwoo let out a sigh of defeat while you let out a sigh of relief. you had no idea what you would say to the boy if he saw that drawing.

once he had moved back to his original seat, you opened your notebook back to the last page you was on and ripped out the paper with the drawing on it.

you then crumpled up the drawing and placed it on the edge of your desk before starting again, something about the first drawing didn't turn out quite right.

what you hadn't noticed though, was that Riwoo saw you rip out the drawing and kept his eye on the crumpled ball of paper for the rest of the detention.

after what felt like hours of silence, your teacher finally allowed you to leave. you picked up your bag and notebook from your desk and before leaving, Riwoo waved you goodbye.

but for some reason, he stayed in the classroom until after you had left. once he saw you was gone, he looked back over to the discarded piece of paper on the edge of your desk and went to pick it up.

"Riwoo, i said you can go"

the boy held the piece of paper in his hand and apologised to his teacher before leaving the classroom. he then immediately opened the paper once he was outside and shock fell over his face.

he was looking at a very detailed drawing of himself, but from someone else's perspective. y/n's perspective.

a smile made it's way back onto Riwoo's face as he tried to straighten out the paper as much as possible. he knew he was going to cherish that drawing forever.
