"are you busy?". your best friend, and crush, Jaehyun had just rang your phone at 11pm. rolling your eyes, you quickly responded to him.
"what would i be doing at 11pm, Myungjae?". you heard a slight chuckle from his end of the phone call, and then a deep sigh.
"surprise but also not surprise i am outside right now". at his words, you jumped up off of your bed and ran over to the window before quietly opening your curtains.
and sure enough, there he was leaning against his car that was parked right outside your house. "i wanna go see the stars, come with me?"
his voice came muffled through the phone which you had left stuffed between your bed covers. you walked back over to your bed before picking up your phone.
"give me five minutes". in those five minutes, you threw on the closest pieces of clothing you could find and sped down the stairs as silently as you could to not wake up your parents.
as you opened the front door, you paused all movement for a second when you saw how Jaehyun was already staring over at you with that sweet smile of his.
you then took in a deep breath before leaving the house and walking over to where the boy was stood next to his car, the smile still on his face.
"i can't believe you're taking me somewhere this late", you mumbled as he opened the passenger door with a slight laugh and then sat down. he then closed the door behind you before going to the drivers side.
something in the air shifted once he sat down and closed the car door. you didn't know what, but the atmosphere immediately became more.. relaxed?
"where are you kidnapping me to?". Jaehyun let out another laugh as he turned on the car and began driving. watching him drive had become one of your most favourite things to do.
"it's a surprise", his voice came out quieter than you or even he expected. the rest of the car journey was silent, but not an awkward silent.
"we're here". the boy's words broke you out of your thoughts and as you looked up, you realised he took you to a very familiar place.
"the school's football field? we can't get in there unless we break in-", you stopped mid sentence when you looked over at Jaehyun and he had a mischievous grin on his lips.
"no we are not going to-"
