Summer - Kim Leehan

you have no idea how you ended up in this situation, sitting on a quiet corner of the beach laughing and cuddling up to a cute guy your age.

it had only been one month since you moved to this small town near the ocean because of your parents wanting to start their own business.

"y/n, go out and make friends before school starts up!" is what they would say for the whole first week of you moving in.

what you didn't expect though was to not only make friends, but to find someone who would eventually be so much more than that.

"are you guys coming over or just being all lovey dovey over there?"

a voice was heard shouting across the beach to you and the guy you were laid next to. he then looked over, his hair falling into his face a little as he shouted back.

"we're staying here!"

the person who shouted over shrugged before running back over to the rest of your friends who were playing in the water.

the cute boy then looked back over at you and had a huge smile on his face making his eyes almost disappear. you quickly moved your hand up to brush the hair that had fallen out of his eyes.

you met Leehan first out of the whole group. it was a quiet day and you had only just left your home to take a look at the surrounding area.

your new house was close to the beach so you made that your first place to go and visit. the sun was only just beginning to rise at this time so you wasn't expecting to see anyone out.

but there was one.

you slowly walked along the path next to the sand, not wanting to gain much attention from the one guy that was out there. but unfortunately for you, he noticed.

"hey, what are you doing out so early?"

he must've thought you was someone he knew, because when you turned your head to look at him his eyes widened ever so slightly.

"oh, sorry. are you new here?"

his words made your slow walking come to a stop and you turned your whole body to completely face him.

"yeah, i moved in a week ago with my parents"

the guy started making his way towards you and you took this time to fully see what he looked like.. wow he was cute!

"so what i'm hearing is.. you need someone to show you around!"

not only was this guy cute, but he was willing to show you.. a complete stranger.. around town? why be rude and decline the offer? but before you could speak his eyes grew wide again and he bowed a little.

"sorry, i'm probably scaring you, right? my name is Kim Donghyun but you can call me Leehan-"

you cut him off by suddenly laughing, finding his rambling adorable. and when he stopped talking to look at you laughing, you swore you could hear a quiet 'cute' mumbled under his breath.

"nice to meet you, Leehan. i'm Y/n"

that whole day Leehan showed you around the small town and even took you to secret spots you never would have found.

he also introduced you to his five friends, who instantly liked you and decided that they were going to be your friends too.

it wasn't until two weeks later that you realised something big. you were starting to get feelings for Leehan.

the six boys and yourself were currently sat outside a cafe in the middle of town when all of a sudden five of them had 'other plans' and got up, leaving just you and Leehan alone.

situations like this had been happening for the past few days, and you were definitely starting to grow curious. however, you and Leehan just finished the drinks you had before going for a walk.

the sun had started setting at this point so you knew you had to get home soon. but as you were about to speak, Leehan spoke.

"can i tell you something, Y/n?"

for whatever reason, his words made so many butterflies form in your stomach. you became more nervous as he led you to a bench right by the beach and sat you both down.

he then grabbed one of you hands and intertwined your fingers with his, softly rubbing his thumb over yours every few seconds.

"i think.. i think i like you"

he looked up from his lap as he let out those words and your face was covered in shock. you soon recovered from that shock and smiled before squeezing his hand.

"i like you too"

his worried expression soon turned into one of pure happiness, smiling so big that his eyes almost disappeared.

the two of you looked into each other's eyes with bright smiles. it had been a week since the confessions and things were going well. even better than well, things were going amazing.

"you have a bit of sand-"

as you spoke you reached your hand forward and brushed away the sand that was on his cheek. you didn't realise how close you had gotten until you focused back on his eyes and saw how close they were.

the smile was still on his face as he lifted up his hand and cupped your chin. there was no words spoken between the two of you as you leaned in and shared your first kiss since admitting your feelings for each other.

you could feel the smile on his lips as you pushed your faces even closer than they already were. this action caused Leehan to fall backwards onto the sand and pull away.

a laugh escaped both your lips as you leaned over him and connected your lips once again. yeah, this was the best summer ever.
