Inko rubbed her temple, staring at the overwhelming amount of work she had to do. Law school was no joke, especially on top of being the manager at the office building she works at. She was being slaved to death, she knew that.
She sighed, clicking out of all her tabs until only her homepage resided. She stared at the screen, watching the picture closely. The room was silent and empty, only the clock ticking was heard. She hesitantly moved her hand closer to the screen, resting it on the blue lit photo.
Hisashi Midoriya. She couldn't believe she still shared that same last name. Beside him was her son, Izuku. "What a beautiful boy," she thought, but no joy came from the sentence. Inko had thought it, Mitsuki had thought it. Everyone knew that there was no joy from this situation.
Izuku was murdered. He said that himself. Aizawa and Tsukauchi said it, too. So, why were they acting like everything was okay? It was just fine that an anonymous person killed her son! It's totally normal that he came back to life with a ton of quirks that overpowered him, right? It's okay that he looks like a dead rodent who had been killed hundreds of times over. It's fine. Everything was just fine. So, why did it feel like everything was oh so wrong?
In all honesty, Inko desperately resented the idea of Izuku being a hero. Heroes had been trash to him, but now that he suddenly had a quirk, he was accepted into society? Just like that? Izuku would only be used by the Hero Commission once they found out about Izuku.
Inko looked down at the paperwork.
     Used.
She didn't have a say in anything, did she? She was in the same boat as her son.
     Click, click.
Inko reopened her browser, endlessly tapping away at her keyboard. How ironic was that? She was worried about Izuku being enslaved when she was teaching him exactly how to be like her? Used.

Izuku practiced his telekinesis on a nearby rock. He hummed to the sound of laughter, exhaling as he looked up. Children were running around the poured rubber flooring. He missed out. He missed out a lot. Those smiling faces were irreplaceable. Izuku, however, had nothing to replace them with. He never got to smile like that.

Midoriya stood next to his father and mother, watching his friends run straight past him. The wind blew his hair up, cold air gushing past him in an instant. He watched Katsuki pant, his cheeks flushed.
The younger boy smiled like crazy, ready to shout, pant, and yell just like his friends were. That was until he was pulled back by his father. "How naive you are, boy," Hisashi muttered. "Making friendships will only bring you down. Far, far down until you drown in an endless ocean of loneliness and despair."
Izuku's heart dropped. Right. Vulnerability will only come with friendship. That's what father had said. For some reason, Midoriya wanted that vulnerability. He wanted to taste all of the feelings. He was only a child, after all.
Izuku ran past his dad. Kacchan was right in front of him, arm's reach away! Hisashi grabbed Midoriya by his collar, dragging him off. "Such a rebellious, horrible boy, aren't you?"
Inko stared in her pretty white sundress, accompanied by her sad, empty eyes. She smiled at Izuku. "That's not real," he cried out. "None of you guys act real!"

Reality, huh? Izuku sighed, scratching cuts into his hands. Really, what was reality? Nothing seemed real these days. Everything was just so dull. He should be more grateful. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Izuku perked up, quickly standing and running into the woods. Danger sense was one of his quirks, and it was only heightened by other quirks of his. Somebody was in trouble. He could feel it. He could almost taste that same bloody, metallic taste he was much too familiar with.

"Is that.. fire? In the woods? Who's that stupid!?" He thought. He slid on some mud, zooming down the slope. There, the source of the fire! It was... a pro hero?
Endeavor looked up, annoyed by the boy's sudden appearance. "Who the hell are you?" He grunted.
"I'm just a kid from the park, but I saw flames and got kind of worried, so I-" Izuku cut himself off, seeing a boy his age walk next to his dad. Midoriya used a modified version of Search, (Ragdoll's quirk,) to sense what quirk the duo-haired boy had. Half cold, half hot, huh Shoto? Izuku's mental and physical notes were starting to click. Endeavor longs for power, and what's more powerful than two of the most prestigious quirk types combined?
Izuku stared down the boy, reaching his eyes. They were dead. Dead like his own, dead like his mother's. Dead and empty.
"Would you stop staring at my son, you freak of a child?" Endeavor spoke up, spitting on Izuku in the process.
"You don't want to be here. Do you, Shoto?" Izuku kept his eyes on Todoroki. Todoroki gasped.
"How the hell do you know him? Have you been making friends behind my back, Shoto?!"
"No, father," Todoroki felt so alive. A random person suddenly understood exactly what he felt. His heart began to race. The emerald green and silver grey eyes met his own. "What an incredible looking boy," Todoroki said to himself. He took a step forward, eyes stuck on Izuku.
"Shoto?" Endeavor looked at Midoriya. Midoriya glared back.
"You're hurting him, can't you see that?"
"I'm about to call the cops, kid. So either get away from my home or I'll make sure you end up in a jail cell!" Endeavor yelled.
Izuku felt himself getting heated up. "What would you tell them, sir? 'I've been abusing my son and a kid tried to help so I shooed him away?' Not only that, but you're illegally damaging the woods. You can hurt yourself, Shoto, the animals, insects, and plants like this. Oh, or are you too stupid to realize that?" Midoriya pushed Shoto behind him as Endeavor began to activate his quirk. "Really, I despise people like you. You make me sick."
"Do you know who I am?!" Endeavor reached for Izuku's collar, while Midoriya moved out of the way, pulling Shoto with him.
"Attempted assault on a minor," Izuku commented, smugly.
"I swear, if you don't just shut the hell up already!" Endeavor activated his quirk pointing it directly towards the two 14-year olds.
Midoriya tapped Endeavor's shoulder from behind. "What the hell.." The man muttered. "You're multi-quirked?! That's impossible! You must be a villain!"
"Or I'm just smart and fast?" Izuku taunted, kicking Endeavor. "Seriously, what type of pro hero gets beaten by a middle schooler?" Endeavor looks back, not seeing Izuku anywhere. He whips his head around to see the boy stomping out the fires with Todoroki handling the bigger one's.
"Shoto. What are you doing?!" Todoroki froze, remembering that his father still had control over him. Reality, and he was about to get hit with one hell of a train of it.
"Just cut it, Endeavor! Remember, I have all of this on video." Midoriya laughed while pointing out the security cameras. "You were responsible for the fire a couple of years ago, right? Or more like, you were responsible for your son starting it." Midoriya continued to dodge Endeavor's advances. He just needed him to use his quirk a bit more to overheat the man's body temperature and cause his current physical status to weaken. It would then be an easy win for Izuku.
"You really are in horrible shape for an old man." Shoto covered his mouth, trying not to explode with laughter. Even if this was fake, it was nice to meet someone who understood him. Midoriya really was extraordinary.
"Stop mocking me!" Endeavor began to pant. Like Izuku predicted, Endeavor was getting over heated. Endeavor was in great shape, just not when he was overusing his quirk.
Izuku smirked as if he had the upper hand on a game of chess. He teleported near Endeavor, knocking him out. The man fell lifeless next to him, and the was game.
Midoriya let out the breath he didn't know he was holding. He grabbed his hair, freaking out. Did he just do that to the number two pro hero? Was he insane? He felt a pair of cold hands touch him. "Shoto?"
"Thank you, Midoriya." Shoto bowed, tears pricking in his eyes.
"It's no big deal! My dad was a similar way, and it always weighs on me that no one helped me out back then." Izuku states, the calmness resting on his face once again. He begins to connect to the security camera footage, uploading it to his phone.
"Your father was abusive, too?" Shoto asks, interested.
"Yeah. Funny thing is, he had a fire quirk as well. I think it was fire-breath?" Izuku looked over at Todoroki. "Who else is in the house?"
"My sister. My older brother is at school at the moment."
"Cool! I always wanted to have siblings. What's it like?" Izuku used Creati, making a pair of quirk cancelling cuffs and locking Endeavor in with them.
"It's nothing special, honestly. They're very nice, but I don't interact with them very much." Shoto watches Izuku's every move, biting his lip. "Are you a villain, like father said?"
"No, but I am multi-quirked. I'm going to be attending Yuuei this upcoming school year." Izuku stood up, facing Todoroki. "I'm sorry about your dad. I should have checked in with you before anything. Do you want to have him reported? You have more than enough evidence to do so."
Todoroki stared at his father, hatred rising. "I'm tired of being used. I'm not a toy."
     "You're not."
"I don't want to be hurt anymore."
"Then, don't be." Izuku held out his hand. "How about you go tell your sister what's happening so we can get the old man in custody?" A huge grin showed up on Izuku's face. Shoto swore it was as bright as the sun, and as warm as the core of the planet. He felt himself begin to smile as well, before running off to talk to Fuyumi.

Shoto stared at Midoriya's number in his contacts. Endeavor's hero license was temporarily revoked and was given a restraining order against his family for a year. "More than enough time," Shoto thought. Ever since he met The green haired boy two weeks ago, the world seemed to stop. Everything was better. He got to visit his mother more, his siblings were smiling more, plus he had a friend now.
Todoroki pressed down on the contact, his phone ringing. "Hello, Todoroki! I was just about to call you." Shoto smiled. Maybe reality wasn't so bad after all.

"So, Endeavor. You're telling me that this boy is multi-quirked? Meaning he either is working with All for One, or he's a phenomenon?"
"Whatever it is, it's powerful. It knew who my son was, knew how to stop me, and it would teleport all around me!" Endeavor told the Hero Commission.
"C'mon Endeavor! The kid isn't an 'it.'" Hawks smiled at his coworker.
"Not the time, Hawks." Madam President, the leader of the Hero Commission, remarked. "You said his name was Izuku Midoriya? Thank you, we'll look into him."
