I slammed down on the accelerator, the car screaming into motion. I felt that surge of adrenaline as we all sped forward. I braked late at the first corner, overtaking Alonso easily. I tried to do what Daniel told me and just take one curve at a time, but my mind was racing ahead.

Focus. Focus. Focus.

Lap 6.

I tried going for the gap on turn five, but Albon managed to defend against me. I cursed in frustration as once again I fell behind him.

Lap 11.

I went for it. On the straight, I pushed down on the accelerator. The DRS gave me that extra boost of speed I needed to pull ahead of Albon. I felt the adrenaline surge through me.

HA! Eat my dust boy!

I apologize, he's very nice. I didn't mean that. I'm just hyped up. Love you Alex.

Lap 36.

I pitted.

2.3

I was back out again, and as the others came into the pits, I found myself in third. Lewis was still leading, followed by Charles. Max was behind me. I felt a rush of triumph. Then the rain began. I had hardly any grip and began struggling to keep the car on track. Something Lewis and Charles did not succeed in doing

I saw them ahead of me. Charles was going for the overtake. He had the inside line, but Lewis didn't back down. I saw a flash of sparks and smoke as their cars collided.

Their cars spun off into the gravel. I swerved to avoid some debris. That's when the relaxation began to set in.

I was leading the race.

My heart sped up. I felt a wave of hope. I can do this! I thought determinedly, clutching my steering wheel tighter. The safety car went on for what felt like a lifetime. I was so impatient to get going again and put as much distance between me and Max as possible.

Green flag.

I slammed down on the accelerator without warning, flying forward. The sudden speed made my body press against my seat. Max had not been fooled by my sudden start and kept with me. I saw his black and orange car closing in on me in my mirrors. I sped up.

I was so close. There are just a few more laps to go. I wanted this so bad, but Max was getting closer. I could feel his menacing presence. He attempted to pass me around the outside, but I held him off.

Now he's just pissing me off. Bad move.

"What the fuck is he doing? Tell him to back off!" I said it angrily to Will .

"Just focus on the race, Sabrina." Christian was the one who answered me.

"Copy." I scowled. I wanted to prove myself. I wanted to show him and the rest of the world that I deserved this seat. My mind went into a deep focus. I took the turns one at a time, feeling the car beneath me and the approaching speed.

"We need you to up the pace," Will told me.

"What why? We are ahead of everyone by far." I frowned. There was a pause.

"Max is saying you are slowing down. He wants to pass you. You need to speed up." He told me firmly. I turned off my radio so he couldn't hear me swearing. I was already going as fast as I could. If anyone was slowing down, it was him.
