Dad takes me to work the next day. He fixes up my car and parks it back outside ready for my shift ending. My mind is a mess and I find it hard to concentrate. The rest of the week seems like a blur. I don't hear from Dean and I don't contact him either. Although I feel like I needed the space my heart also aches for him.
By the time Friday comes along I decide it's time to see him. I know he will be heading home to feed Woody at lunch time so I pick up some lunch at Lizzy's and head over to his house.
He is not home yet so I feed Woody and let him out. He runs around the front of the house excitedly, never going too far. He is such a well-behaved dog. I make myself a cup of coffee and sit on the swinging chair, Woody eventually settles at my feet and we stay there until I hear a car heading our way.
Dean's patrol car.
He doesn't see me as he gets out of the car but confusion is all over his face when Woody runs over to him.
He bends down to greet him and looks around, his eyes landing on me. He stands and slowly makes his way over to me without saying a word.
"Hi, Dean" I place my empty cup on the floor and stand, I take my time to walk over to him. He follows my every step while frozen on the porch. It's like he's scared his movement will cause me to run. When I am finally in front of him I look up into his eyes. My hands go on his chest and I can feel his heart racing. I can't read his expression. It's a mixture of uncertainty, fear and shock.
"I'm sorry" I start to say but it's like my words snap Dean back into reality
"No, don't apologise. None of this is your fault" he still doesn't touch me "You had every right to be upset, I just wanted to give you space" I wrap my arms around his waist and nuzzle into his chest taking in his scent. God how I have missed him. His strong arms suddenly wrap around my shoulders and he rests his head on mine.
We stay in that embrace for little while.
"I brought us lunch" I eventually say and move my head to look at him.
"You're perfect Annie"
He keeps one arm around my shoulders and guides me inside, closing the door when Woody follows us and settles in the living room.
We eat our lunch in silence at the kitchen island, casting glances at each other every now and then.
I start cleaning up once we finish, Dean keeps his eyes on me staying put on his stool.
"I'll let you get back to work" I say rounding the island to stand next to him.
Dean smirks and shakes his head, pulling my waist so I am between his legs.
"Oh no sweetheart, I'm taking the afternoon off"

We spend all weekend in Dean's bed. It is bliss to be back in his arms and it immediately comforts me to be near him again.
My smile is back and it makes the week go so much quicker. I go to Dean's house everyday to walk and feed Woody. Georgia tells me the officers are going to the pub on Friday and invites me, I don't want to intrude on Dean's work night out but he is very happy with the idea of me being there so I agree, on the condition that I can invite Jess too.
"I thought we were getting shots!" Ben's voice rings out over the chatter. We are sitting in a large booth at a quaint pub on the edge of town.
"No! The last time you were ordering shots I was hungover for days!" Jess whined.
