"What are you doing, hmm?"
Yoongi's voice was deep and teasing, laced with amusement. His dark eyes were slightly narrowed as he smirked down at Jimin, who was still frozen in place, caught red-handed.
Jimin's breath hitched. His mind raced as he tried to come up with an excuse—anything to cover up what he had almost done.
"N-Nothing," he stammered, quickly pulling back and sitting up straight. He forced himself to look calm, even though his heart was beating like crazy. "Something was on your face. I was just… checking."
Yoongi raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Is that so?"
Jimin nodded quickly. "Yes! There was… um… a speck of dust. I thought it was a bug! Yeah, that’s it."
Yoongi hummed, clearly unconvinced. His smirk deepened.
"Ohh… I see."
He stretched his arms above his head, letting out a small yawn, before standing up. Jimin let out a quiet sigh of relief, thinking he had managed to escape the situation.
But just as Yoongi was about to leave, he suddenly turned back.
Jimin barely had time to react before Yoongi leaned down, bringing his face dangerously close to his ear.
Jimin held his breath. His whole body tensed as he felt Yoongi’s warm breath tickle his skin.
Then, in a low, teasing whisper—
"You can't lie, you know," Yoongi murmured. "Just admit it… you like me."
Jimin's eyes widened. His mouth fell open slightly, but before he could say anything, Yoongi pulled back with a smirk.
He winked. Then, without another word, he walked out of the room.
Jimin sat there, completely stunned. His cheeks burned, his ears felt hot, and his hands gripped the blanket tightly.
"W-What just happened???"
His heart was pounding so hard he thought it might explode.
Yoongi’s words repeated in his head over and over again.
"Just admit it… you like me."
Jimin groaned, covering his face with his hands. "This man is going to be the death of me!"
He took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "It’s fine. Just act normal. Nothing happened. Everything is fine."
With that, he quickly got out of bed and changed into dry clothes before heading downstairs.
---
Downstairs, the others were already gathered.
The living room was large, with dark wooden floors and warm lighting that made the space feel cozy despite the eerie atmosphere of the house. A fireplace crackled softly, adding a comforting warmth to the otherwise cold morning.
Namjoon, Jin, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, and Kai were seated on the plush couches, looking well-rested but slightly uneasy.
"So, we survived the night," Jin said dramatically, stretching his arms. "Honestly, I thought we’d wake up to some kind of ghost haunting us."
Hoseok shuddered. "Don’t jinx it, hyung. This house still gives me chills."
Taehyung looked around curiously. "Yoongi-hyung, your house is really huge. You sure you live here alone?"
Yoongi, who had just walked in, nodded. "Yeah. Just me."
Jungkook whistled, looking impressed. "That’s kinda cool, but also kinda sad."
Kai tilted his head. "Don’t you ever get lonely?"
Yoongi’s expression didn’t change, but there was a brief flicker of something in his eyes. It was gone so fast that no one could really catch it.
"You get used to it," he said simply.
Jimin, who had just arrived, paused at the doorway. His gaze lingered on Yoongi, his mind still replaying their conversation from earlier.
Then, as if feeling Jimin’s stare, Yoongi turned his head slightly—
And met his eyes.
Jimin’s breath hitched.
Yoongi didn’t say anything. He just smirked.
Jimin immediately looked away, his cheeks turning red again.
Namjoon, who had been observing the interaction, raised an eyebrow. "Did something happen between you two?"
Jimin’s head snapped up. "N-No! Nothing happened!"
Jin gasped dramatically. "Lies! That reaction was way too suspicious!"
Hoseok grinned. "Jiminie, tell us the truth~"
Jimin groaned, covering his face. "You guys are so annoying!"
Yoongi chuckled, shaking his head. "Leave him alone."
The teasing finally stopped, and they all settled down, focusing on the breakfast Yoongi had prepared.
But even as Jimin sat there, eating quietly, he couldn’t stop stealing glances at Yoongi.
And every time he did…
Yoongi was already looking at him.
With that same knowing smirk.
"So, everyone was okay yesterday?" Namjoon asked, looking around at the group.
One by one, they all nodded.
"Yeah," Taehyung said, stretching his arms. "Surprisingly, we made it through the night without any ghosts attacking us."
Hoseok shivered. "Don’t say that! This forest and this house are already scary enough. I want to go home."
At the mention of "home," Jimin and Yoongi both stilled for a moment.
Their eyes met.
For a brief second, something heavy passed between them—an unspoken sadness.
And everyone noticed it.
Jin’s playful expression faltered slightly as he observed the way Jimin’s gaze softened toward Yoongi. Taehyung and Jungkook exchanged a knowing look.
Breaking the silence, Taehyung smiled and turned to Yoongi. "It was really nice meeting you, hyung. Thank you for letting us stay here and for helping us."
Yoongi shook his head. "It’s nothing. Actually… I’d like it if you guys stayed for a few more days."
The room went silent.
Jimin’s eyes widened slightly, and before he could stop himself, his entire face lit up.
He looked… excited.
Too excited.
And once again—everyone noticed.
Jin smirked. He crossed his arms and sighed dramatically. "Ah, we can’t, Yoongi. Sorry…"
