Despite the spooky conversation, they continued chatting while preparing ramen. The warm meal filled their stomachs, bringing comfort to the chilly night. Namjoon, Taehyung, Jungkook, Jimin, and Kai enjoyed the adventure, but Jin and J-Hope remained on edge, feeling as if unseen eyes were watching them. They clung to Namjoon and Kai, refusing to be left alone even for a second.
They had no set plans for when to return. This trip was all about adventure, about facing the unknown.
Taehyung suddenly stretched lazily and yawned. "I'm feeling bored. Tell me a story."
Kai grinned. "Nice idea. Alright, I’ll tell you a story. Are you ready? It’s about a ghost."
Jimin scoffed, laughing softly. "Rubbish."
J-Hope immediately clung to Kai, while Jin instinctively held onto Namjoon.
Kai’s voice dropped to a dramatic tone. "So, once upon a time, a group of five people came to a forest for camping… but they never returned."
The fire crackled, casting eerie shadows as the group listened attentively, their eyes fixed on Kai.
Kai continued, "They stayed in the jungle for a while. Three of them didn’t believe in ghosts. They thought it was all just silly stories. But then... something happened that they never expected."
Jin gulped. "What happened?"
Kai leaned in, his voice turning ominous. "That night, they were sitting in front of the fire when they suddenly heard a noise. It sounded like someone crying for help... but they ignored it, thinking it was just the wind. But then—"
Jin’s eyes widened. "But?!"
Kai smirked, enjoying the suspense. "Then they felt it… Someone was coming closer... and closer… until suddenly, one of them disappeared! Just like that! Gone!"
J-Hope’s grip on Kai tightened, his body trembling.
Kai continued, his voice low and eerie. "Now, only four of them remained. The wind howled through the trees, making strange noises. Fear crept into their hearts. Then, one by one… they all disappeared. No one knows what happened to them. They never returned. And from that day on, people say… they became ghosts. And now, they still roam this very forest."
Jin and J-Hope were completely frozen in fear. Even Taehyung and Jungkook, who had been confident before, now looked a little uneasy. Only Namjoon and Jimin remained unaffected, shaking their heads at the absurdity of the story.
Jimin stretched his arms and yawned. "Guys, whatever. I’m sleepy."
J-Hope’s eyes widened. "Jimin, you’re going to sleep alone?!"
Jimin smirked. "Yeah."
Jin gasped. "Jimin, don’t sleep alone! Are you not scared?!"
Jimin chuckled. "So, Jin Hyung, do you want me to sleep between you both?" He smirked playfully.
Jin scoffed. "You brat!"
The group burst into laughter, the tension finally breaking. Jimin waved goodnight and disappeared into his tent. One by one, the others followed—Namjoon and Jin went to their tent, followed by
Jungkook sat close to Taehyung, the warmth of the fire doing little to ease the uneasiness growing in his chest. He glanced at Taehyung, his voice barely above a whisper. "Tae… do you think ghosts are real?"
Taehyung hesitated for a moment before replying, "I don't know, Kook. Maybe…"
Jungkook swallowed. "Tae, I’m not scared, but… I don’t have a good feeling either. Something feels off."
Taehyung nodded, rubbing his arms as if trying to shake off the eerie atmosphere. "Me too. Let’s just go to our tent."
Meanwhile, in his own tent, Jimin lay on his sleeping bag, staring up at the dark fabric of the tent’s ceiling. An unsettling feeling crept into his chest, making him shift uncomfortably.
"Nothing’s wrong… It's all just in my head. Ghosts don’t exist," he muttered to himself, trying to push away the strange sensation.
Everything around him was pitch black, the silence stretching unnervingly. The atmosphere was heavy, suffocating. Then, out of nowhere, he felt it—
A hand on his shoulder.
His breath hitched, his body freezing as his heart nearly stopped. A chill ran down his spine, and for a moment, it felt like his soul had left his body.
"W-Who…?" Jimin stammered, his voice barely escaping his lips.
With shaky hands, he turned around—
But there was no one there.
The tent was empty, the darkness swallowing everything around him. There wasn’t even a torch for light. A bead of sweat rolled down his forehead as his mind raced. He was alone. Completely alone.
He swallowed hard, regretting his decision to sleep alone. How long had it been since he got inside? They didn’t even have a watch to check the time. Everything felt eerie, as if unseen eyes were watching him from every direction.
"God… what is this?" Jimin whispered, his voice trembling. "Should I go to my hyungs? No… they might be asleep. I can’t disturb them."
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the tent, making it shake violently. The fabric flapped loudly, and an eerie whistling sound filled the air. Jimin’s heart pounded against his chest as a new sound reached his ears—
