"What happened?" Yoongi asked, his voice soft as he looked at Jimin, who was still holding onto him tightly.
Jimin hesitated for a moment before mumbling, "Nothing… it's just… your house is really scary."
Yoongi blinked before suddenly bursting into laughter. The deep, rich sound filled the dimly lit room, making Jimin pout in frustration.
"Why are you laughing!?" Jimin demanded, crossing his arms.
Yoongi wiped a small tear from the corner of his eye, still chuckling. "You just had a kiss with a ghost, and now you're scared of a little noise?"
Jimin’s cheeks burned bright red. "Shut up!!" he huffed, smacking Yoongi’s chest playfully.
Yoongi grinned, enjoying how cute Jimin looked when he was flustered.
After a moment, Jimin's expression turned serious. He lowered his gaze for a second before looking back up at Yoongi. "Yoongi… where are they now? The people who killed you?"
Yoongi’s smile faded. His eyes darkened slightly, his jaw tightening. "They’re dead."
Jimin’s eyes widened in shock. "What? How??"
His heartbeat quickened as he searched Yoongi’s face for answers. Yoongi sighed, looking down for a moment as if remembering something painful.
"After they killed me, they lied to the police," Yoongi explained, his voice laced with bitterness. "They told them it was an accident… and the police believed them. I tried to scream, to tell everyone the truth… but no one could see me. No one could hear me."
Jimin’s hands curled into fists, his nails digging into his palms.
Yoongi continued, his voice quieter now, as if lost in the memories. "They were heading home that night when a truck hit their car. It wasn’t even a big accident… but still, they all died on the spot."
Jimin scoffed, shaking his head. "They deserved it."
Yoongi glanced at him, a little surprised by the anger in Jimin’s voice.
"How old were you when all of this happened?" Jimin asked after a brief silence.
"I was 24," Yoongi answered.
Jimin’s eyes widened even more. "Wait—24? That means… right now, you’re 34?! No!! You’re old! You’re a grandpa!"
Yoongi’s lips twitched into a smirk. In a swift motion, he grabbed Jimin by the waist, pulling him close. Caught off guard, Jimin placed his hands on Yoongi’s chest, feeling his warmth. His heart pounded as he looked up into Yoongi’s mischievous eyes.
"You want to see what an old grandpa can do?" Yoongi teased, his voice lower now.
Jimin gulped, his face turning redder. "N-no!"
Yoongi chuckled. "And one more thing… I was 24 when I died, yes. But now that I became human again, my age is still 24."
Jimin let out an exaggerated sigh. "Ohh… Mr. Ghost is suddenly young again, huh?"
Yoongi chuckled at Jimin’s teasing tone and leaned in, pressing another soft kiss to his cheek. Jimin smiled, his heart fluttering.
"Promise me…" Yoongi said after a moment, his voice serious now. "Promise me you’ll stay with me forever."
Jimin gazed into his eyes, his own filled with warmth. "You are my forever."
Yoongi exhaled shakily, gripping Jimin’s hands. "I really want to see my parents… I don’t even know how they are now. How will they react when they see me?"
Jimin squeezed Yoongi’s hands gently. "Everything will be okay, Yoongi. We… we can’t tell them the ghost thing, obviously. But we can come up with another excuse."
Yoongi nodded, his lips pressing into a small smile. "You’re right. As long as you're with me, I can face anything."
Jimin rested his head against Yoongi’s chest, listening to his heartbeat—the heartbeat that was once missing.
And for the first time in ten years, Yoongi truly felt alive.
