Three left..

Scarlett Adams

"How can I help you?" A lady asked as I walked into the University of London.

"I'm Scarlett Adams. I have an appointment with the dean." I explained. She nodded, "I will let him know that you have arrived." She picked up the phone on her desk and I looked at the office around me. Picture frames covered every square inch, they were pictures of students, graduating. I smiled, that's what I wanted to do with my life.

"Ma'am." The secretary interrupted my day dreaming. I turned as I walked into his office, not before knocking. "Come in, Miss Adams."

I walked through, the scent of pine and apples filled my nose, "Hello Dean Petersen."

"I knew the name looked familiar," he said at once. "I beg your pardon?"

"You are dating Liam Payne. Your face is everywhere." He smiled. He looked about in his forties, too old to be up to date on the latest scoop.  I smiled polietly, "Um, actually-"

"He emailed me about an hour before your arrival. He paid for your tuition, books, etc. He gave you such a high recommendation." I couldn't stop my jaw from dropping, "You're kidding."

He shook his head and held up a paper, "Dear Dean Petersen, my name is Liam Payne. CEO of Payne Enterprise. I am writing you on a matter of one of your applicants, Miss Scarlett Adams. I am not showing favoritism, sir. She has worked for me and I can honestly say she is very hardworking, caring, charismatic, and selfless. Your university could benefit from having her as one of your students. If you choose to accept her, I have written a check to pay for all of her expenses. I hope you will choose wisely. As always, Liam Payne." He read.

My mouth still was open, I couldn't believe that he had done that. "Your boyfriend is very generous."

"Actually, he isn't-" The door opened, it was the lady from the office, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but the Duke is requesting your time."

I looked at the dean, who's eyes were wide, "Very well. Miss Adams, we would be honored to have you attend out university." He stood up and shook my hand, "Please say hello to Liam for me."

I walked out to my car, still in shock. Why had he done that? There's only one way to find out. I got in my car and drove off from the parking lot, still confused.

Liam Payne

"Yes sir," I said into the phone, "I know that is more money than needed but you can fix the fountain on the west side of campus. Yes, of course, Dean Petersen. Glad it went well. Goodbye, sir. Tell the Duke, I said hello." I know Scarlett won't be thrilled I helped her, but I needed to do this.

"She's going to kill you," Jay said, his shoes on my coffee table.

"Shut the hell up, Jay." I growled, "Can't I just be helpful without anyone freaking out?"

"Not if it's wanted." He said, examining his nails, "You're made a mistake." Then someone began pounding on the door. "There's the mistake coming to bite you back in the ass."

"Don't answer it." I begged but Jay strolled off to the door, and opened it. Scarlett stormed in, pointing a finger at me. She looked amazing, her hair was slicked back and her eyes popped. I was actually turned on, especially when she was mad. "What the HELL, Liam?"

I smiled, "What?"

"Quit meddling in my life. Why did you do it? Why!" She yelled. Jay hugged her, "I missed you."

"Fuck off." She pushed him off, "I'm sorry. That was really mean. I missed you too."

"I forgive you." Jay smiled. She looked back at me, "Why? What motivates do you have?"

I sighed, "I wanted to do something nice."

"Why?" She demanded, as she threw her purse on the ground. "I felt like I owed you, what I said was uncalled for and I know I can't win you back but-"

"Stop." She held up her hand. "What you said was unforgivable, but I'm learning to forgive you. But there is a few things we need to get straight. One, I am not your charity case. I do not need you to pay for my stuff. I can handle myself. Two, Liam, we aren't going to get back together. We can be friends but you have to learn to accept it."

I nodded slowly, "Friends?"

She nodded, "Yes, or else we can't talk anymore. Liam, I like having you as a friend but as a boyfriend, you get mean."

"I'm sorry for what I said, I was really jealous. Forgive me?" I outstretched my arms. She sighed and hugged me.

Her phone vibrated, she pulled back and read it. Her face brightened and a giant smile appeared then she screamed, "Oh my gosh!"

"What?" Jay and I said at the same time.

"Holly went into labor! Niall's baby is coming!"

A/n: I hoped you all enjoyed it! Anyway, I have a favor to ask all of you, but if you check out my new fan fictions, 007 Styles and Where He Left Her . So if you read them, let me know what you thought! Love you!
