Niall Horan
An hour prior before Scarlett arrived.
"Grandma loves you. Yes she does." My mother kissed Cecilia as she held onto the little thing.
"You seem very happy, Niall." Greg smiled. Theo and Denise were out and Greg was lonely. My mum showed up out of the blue, claiming she'd only be here for an hour.
"I am. It's been rough though, Cecilia does not like sleeping in her room. So I bought another crib and put it mine."
He chuckled, "That's how Theo was, don't worry it will pass."
I smiled as I watched Cecilia smile as my mum kissed her cheek. "She's beautiful, huh?"
"Truly. Better watch out, she'll steal some boy's hearts."
"Ha. Not a chance in hell." I laughed.
We all started talking about doing dinner on Sundays so that we stay in touch with each other. My mum says that's what's best for everyone.
"I have to go to the field in like thirty minutes so mum could you-"
"Oh say no more." She smiled, "I'd love to spend time with my granddaughter."
"Thanks, mum."
After they both left, I got in the shower. I closed my eyes as the water washed away all that has happened in the past five years. The meeting, the first time we kissed, the detention, the arrest, the engagement, the wedding, Holly, the football game, the baby, everything. I put my head against the cool tile walls.
The doorbell went off suddenly, "Fuck." It was probably Zayn. We carpool together.
Shutting off the water, I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around my waist. I walked to the front door and threw it open, "Zayn, I just need like-"
"Not Zayn, actually. Hey, Niall," She was here. Scarlett.
"Hi," She waved.
"Uh, come in. I'll put on something and then we can talk." I said, still in disbelief.

Scarlett Adams
I tapped my foot on the wooden ground as I looked around. It was decorated beautifully.
"Denise decorated." Niall claimed as he came into the living room wearing jeans and a white tee-shirt. His hair was still wet and hung low. His eyes were that ocean blue, the blue that you just find yourself getting lost in. That the waves could drag you down and yet it would still be the most beautiful and electrifying thing.
"She did a great job." I made a small smile. "Was this the-"
He nodded, eyes looking sad. "Yeah, this was the house."
"It's lovely."
"I mean this is the kindest way, but what are you doing here?"
I took a deep breath, "Honestly. I don't know."
"So you just jumped on a plane and came here?"
I nodded, "That's how reckless I am. I'm sorry. I should go."
As I stood up and walked past him, he called, "You're lying."
"What?" I said incredulously, turning around and walking to face him.
"You know why you're here. Just say it." Air escaped my lungs as he called my bluff.
"Scarlett?"
I didn't say a word, I couldn't. Why was I here?
"Is it a crime to want to see my-" I broke off.
"Ex- Finaceè?" He suggested.
I shook my head, "Is that what you think you are? You're my-"
"Friend?" He cut me off, "Because if I was your friend, you could have called me. Not fly out here to see me."
Frustration built up inside, "What do you want me to say? Niall. I came back here because i-i still care about you. More than anyone else. And I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. When it comes to you, I just can't."
"Wait about Liam? What is he going to say about this?" He said coldly.
"I should go. This was a mistake. I realize that now." I tried to walk away but he grabbed my wrist.
"No. Damn it! I'm not letting you run from me again." He yelled. "Just tell me why you came and don't give some bullshit excuse. I've had enough."
"I still love you!" I shouted, "I came back to see if you still cared about me. And then I'd leave because that's what I do best. I run. If I could just find out that you still loved me the way I loved you, then I'd go home and regret for the rest of my life how I left you standing at the altar. I know it doesn't make sense."
"Scarlett."
"There. You got your answer. I love you, Niall. And that's all there is left to say. I'm gonna go. And there's nothing you can do or say that will-" He grabbed my face and slammed his lips to mine.
He let me go after a few seconds passed, "I haven't stopped loving you. And I know I can't change your mind."
I nodded, still dazed from the kiss. I turned my back and headed to the door.
My hand touched the knob when, "so this is it?" he asked.
"No," I shook my head as I turned around, "You and I will always be unfinished business."
With that he smiled and nodded, "Good night, Scarlett."
All air escaped when he said those three words, transporting me back to the first night I realized I loved him.
"I will never say goodbye to you." Niall said as he kissed me. The moonlight danced acrossed his skin as we laid on our back, gazing up at the sky.
I shook my head, "So don't."
"But i have too. One day," he spoke, "We will never have to say goodbye only goodnight."
He remembered.
"Goodnight, Niall."

A/n: so um... Kind of shitty but I don't know if I'm ready to stop writing Scarlett and Niall's tale. But parting is such sweet sorrow. I hope the next chapter will ease all your little minds.
