With a muffled sound Mingi was letting one of the last bags fall to the ground right in the living room of his new apartment. The suitcases were already here, Mingi was discussing with the drivers that they should be extra careful with all of his art stuff and canvases and in the end he just reserved one of the rooms only for him and his art supplies. Yunho had no big choice in this and both of them didn’t talk right before entering here. And to be honest he didn’t plan to talk much to him now either.
“I can’t wait”, Mingi was mockingly whispering to himself, chewing his lip for almost an hour now as if it was a fucking anti stress ball. The skin hurt, probably swollen but he was too stressed to care. Yunho letting out a sigh right behind him with the following sliding sound of the elevator doors.
Mingi was walking in there rather slowly, letting his gaze wander around carefully now, his hands grabbing material, opening drawers - after just running through here the last days without giving it much attention. It was the third floor of a big complex building, the elevator bringing them directly into the hallway, being able to look openly into the living room from there. Everything was bright, a big window front over the west wall and the kitchen to his right. The living room and the kitchen were almost going into each other, the kitchen island the only room separator, fancy black bar stools standing on the left side of it, fruits and glasses in the middle of it. The refrigerator big enough to fit stuff for five people in there and the coffee machine looked like it could say Good morning to you if you ask it to. A color scheme of black, white and grey and Mingi was hating how fucking boring and minimalistic it was - he was feeling the artistic urge to spray and throw every color on the walls he could find. Giving all of this some fucking life.
Mingi knew that the little hallway right in front of him would bring him to the rest of the rooms. He had only saw one of them till now, probably the smallest one being stuffed with all of his canvases now. Having a rather small window, a little wooden table in it - nothing big.
Yunho was still walking right behind him, Mingi feeling his presence burning on the skin of his back like he was a shadow he wanted to get rid off. He was pissed, it was hard to accept this decision and it was fucking hard to leave his old apartment.
But seeing all of this was consuming enough for his brain to not think about it too hard.
“You can have this side of the rooms, and I take this one”, Mingi was saying confident, standing in the hallway and pressing his back on the right side of the wall and looking across to the other. Yunho slowly walking up there - for the first time Mingi was seeing him wearing a light washed jeans and a dark blue polo shirt, showing off his collarbones and a little silver necklace. It was the same one he always wore, Mingi was asking himself for a split second if it has a meaning for him. Four rooms on each side with one last one on the north side, probably one of the three bathrooms. Bright and big lamps hanging from the ceiling to overshine the fact that there was no window here.
“Let’s not cross paths then”, Yunho was saying neutrally, completely uninterested in the fact which side he would take or which rooms Mingi wanted. They both were at least on the same page with the fact to not wanting to live together.
“Thanks for the talk”, he was just whispering, as they both went on to open doors, inspecting rooms and furniture and Mingi trying to at least try to have a vision of what to do with all of the space. Even if the hallway seemed rather small, behind every door was another big and wide room, hiding expensive stuff in it nobody needed. Or at least Mingi had no need for a stupid dolphin statue on one of the dressers, or a green marble bathtub big enough to fit three people in there. His father should take all this fucking money and give it to someone else - Mingi was already happy with his old apartment.
Knowing that this was no gift or a act out of empathy for his son, this was just for the act of people needing to see how wealthy his family was. But even if Mingi wanted to drown himself in self pity he was realizing something after opening the last door and getting greeted by a lot of indoor gym stuff - looking over to the open doors on Yunho’s side.
“Don’t fucking say-”, Mingi was barking out after closing the last door - almost running up to the only room left on the north side and forcing the door to open. Staring right unto the big massive king size bed in front of him. The window letting the sunlight hit the silky red covers, dark shiny wood caging it in reaching almost to the roof and a massive wardrobe on the left side with a mirror attached to it.
The only bedroom.
He remembered Miss Kim saying something about the king size bed.
“You will sleep on the couch”, Mingi was saying, turning around to Yunho coming up to him from behind, but the latter just tilted his head and was walking past him. Standing on one side of the bed and Mingi coming up to the other. Both glazing at each other.
“How about you sleep on the fucking couch?”, he was suggesting, provocatively laying the little bag he had in his hand on the covers to demonstrate that he would not back down so easily. Mingi was letting out the air in his lungs in a short, disbelieving laugh.
“No way, I was here first”, he was saying, both not even realizing how childish they were acting.
“What? Are you afraid I might touch you at night and you enjoy it, princess?”, he was smirking devilish into his direction and Mingi was letting his tongue run over his upper teeth, as if he was close to just fucking jump and kill him. Letting his neck bones crack slightly and crossing his arms before his chest.
“You really think I would let you win this easily?”, Mingi was asking, grabbing the pillow on the top of the bed and laying it in the middle.
“ Your side, my side. Until I have my own fucking bed”, he was showing with one hand, crossing his arms before his chest again as he was the one smirking now. Seeing how Yunho's brows trembled a little bit, but he was not showing what was going on inside of him. Both just eager to share a dark glare at each other.
“And don’t beg for cuddles at night, all right?”, he was saying, leaving him standing there by leaving the room, walking into the hallway and trying to swallow the anger in his chest about this whole situation.
“We need to leave in half an hour”, Yunho was barking at him and Mingi was just actively ignoring him. His hand reaching out for the only room he knew would bring him down somehow.
