Ava's POV

Yay! Another Monday...

I dragged my feet down my front steps and started the long journey of my day.

I walked down the street on my way to school, when I was suddenly distracted by the sweet sounds of a guitar strum followed by the harmony of a beautiful male voice coming from the corner.

I immediately rushed to the musical bliss.

By the corner I was surprised to find a good looking teenage boy strumming the strings of his newly bought guitar and singing to his hearts content.

I stood in the crowd of people surrounding him and stared in awe.

He was amazing!

As his light brown eyes met mine, and a huge smile slipped onto his face.

A similar smile slipped on to my face followed by an embarrassing bright red blush.

After he was done, I walked over to him.

I dropped a ten dollar bill in his guitar case layed on the ground.

After realizing what I did, the boy picked up my bill and extended it out to me.

"Oh, I can't take this" He said.

"You deserve it!" I complemented him, "You were amazing"

He blushed and let out a little humbling laugh. "Thanks"

"I'm surprised you haven't been discovered yet"

"Haha Thanks, but I'm not that good"

"Yes you are!" I said a little too loudly, "keep the money"

He glanced down to the bill in his hands. "Well, since I'm so loaded with cash," he began, "how about we go out for coffee after school"

Wait, what? School?

"Oh my God! School!? I completely forgot! What time is it?"

"8:45, don't worry you still have a half hour until school starts" he laughed a little.

"Oh thank you!"

"You can thank me over coffee!"

"I'll see you at Starbucks, 3:30?"

"3:30." He smiled.

Maybe Monday's aren't so bad after all..

× After School ×

I sat at an empty table as "guitar boy" got our coffee.

After he was done ordering, he came and sat down with both of our coffees.

He handed me my boiling hot coffee, "Let's start with names. I'm Shawn"

"My name's Ava"

"Nice to officially be on first name basis"

I giggled.

"So, tell me a bit about yourself" he asked

"First of all, I'm 17. I can't drive. I'm the type of person you find with their nose in a book. My favorite color is Tumblr blue, but everyone else calls it 'light blue'. And I have five best friends who mean the world to me"

He nodded. "Interesting"

"Your turn"

He sighed, "I'm 17. I drive a crappy old car. I'm the type of person who doesn't want to be forgotten, I want to make an impact on peoples lives. My favorite color is red. And my best friend is my older brother, Nash"

"Really?"

"Yeah, I know it's lame"

"No, it's fascinating. I'm an only child, so hearing about others siblings and relationships between them always tends to interest me"

"Well, Nash kind of raised me. He taught me everything I know. Except for music, he doesn't know anything about music"

"Yeah, my parents split up when I was younger and I think that if it wasn't for my friends I would have had an even tougher time with it" I explained.

"I hope that if everything goes well, I'll get to meet these friends of yours"

"Only if I can meet Nash"

"Deal?"

"Deal." I nodded and took a long sip of my coffee.

With that we enjoyed the rest of our surprisingly good- no amazing, Monday.
