The Scarlett Gem Tournament was already buzzing with contestants on the first day. Cameras and hired press snapped photos of everyone that entered and everyone that stepped into the stage. Billie and Kai met the organizers, the sponsors and the MC. They took a few pictures and then the Kai started his opening speech for the tournament.

Billie had on an elegant sage green gown that covered all but her shoulders, the thin strapped material hugging her cleavage and making the emerald jewel around her neck stand out. Her blonde hair was straightened down to fall over her shoulders, pins keeping it away from her face. She watched Kai on the stage, half aware of her stalker in the crowd posing as a camera man.

Kai's little introduction speech had just started when a young woman patted Billie on the shoulder. She was dressed in a blouse and pencil skirt, red muffler around her neck. The uniform told Billie that she was a Moonlite Casino employee, must've been a dealer or inspector.

"Ms. Eilish?"

Billie raised both brows that the girl knew her name. Many people knew Kai, since he was the owner, but it was not the same case with his assistant. Not that it bothered her.

"Yes?"

The woman with ivory skin and brunette hair then said, "Mr. Rivera sent me earlier. He said you should meet him in the staff room. Alone."

Billie glanced over at Kai. Was this his way of an apology? Even if so, was now the right time?

"Uhm...okay."

Billie stole a glance at Kai on the stage, hoping he would look her direction so that she could send him a questioning look. So that she could try and figure out what he had planned. Whether it was good or bad. His face would tell her. But he didn't look her way. His eyes was on the crowd, it was who he was talking to after all, as he explained the rules and regulations of the tournament.

The woman guided her out of the casino. She looked over her shoulder at Kai again. Still not a single glance in her direction. All she wanted was confirmation from him of some sort, but she also didn't want to disobey him and ruin whatever he had planned for her. So, she followed the woman out.

They silently walked through the soundless halls until they reached the staff area. There was a receptionist who greeted them as they passed and made their way to the elevator. Fifth floor. Three doors to the left. A clean oakwood door. The woman opened for her, pointing her hand inside.

"He's waiting for you," she said.

Billie nodded, but froze instantaneously. "Wait, what-"

"Ms. Island!" Adan appeared into view by the open door.

Billie inched back, her behind hitting a hard surface just as she was about to make a run for it. She turned around to find a familiar set of syrup orbs.

"Mariposa mía, you look like a queen tonight," said Kayden, inching closer to her until she had no choice but to step inside. With a smirk, Kayden pushed her only escape closed with his foot, hands casually tucked in his black jeans pocket.

Billie stopped walking backwards and turned so that she could look at both men on either side of her. "What are you doing?"

Adan chuckled, "What do you think, Ms. Island? I'm eliminating a threat. You walked into my household, coerced my son and then turned him against me. Let's just say, you're not exactly on my good side."

She scowled. "It's Eilish."

"Eh, why does it matter? It's probably a fake name anyway. Am I right, Agent?"

Billie shook her head. "You're sick! I'm not a fucking spy, you dumbfuck. If I made half the amount those fuckers did, trust me, I wouldn't be working as anyone's assistant."
