Kai dressed into the black golf shirt and trousers that he'd been wearing earlier today before going to the gym.

Their bedrooms were separated by a wall, the only thing keeping him apart from  her being a white finewood door in the middle of it. The night, Kai knew, would be the hardest to endure while keeping this in mind. He tapped his knuckles on the very door that was a sorry excuse for a barrier between them. She muttered a short, “come in” which made him push the door and peek in.

"Hey," he said softly, like he was talking to someone who'd just exited the womb. He couldn't help it. He'd just had his hands and body all over her and every single part of her was all soft, smooth and fragile. He couldn't believe that he'd ever spoken to her any differently. "How are you doing?"

She was sitting on her bed, phone in hand held on landscape telling him that she was most likely watching something on it. She was now dressed in a camisole and cotton shorts, the outfit not one bit less tempting than the black swimsuit she had on. Black as in, his favorite color. It took everything in him not to shut the door and repeat what had happened in the kitchen. Not to go more further and screw Julianna and whatever she came here for.

"I'm okay. You?"

He nodded. "Great." He looked to the floor, then at her. "Like I said, you're amazing."

There was that look again. The same that he had gotten at the mall when he gave her the same compliment. Like he had just said some magic words and waved a wand that made her eyes suddenly light up in marvel. On top of that, she smiled at him, cheeks going red as she glanced down, away from his scrutiny. Something in his chest tugged. It took time to come to terms with it, but he knew it was his heart. It moved for her. Beat for her. Transported blood to his entire body in her namesake. Smashed into his chest begging to come and see for itself the person that made any dull sight become brighter than it was.

"I have to talk to my sister. Are you going to be okay here?"

She nodded her head. When he showed dissatisfaction towards the answer, she replied, "Yeah I'm good." She pointed her phone screen in his direction. Some graphic thriller movie was paused on it. "This should keep me entertained for the next hour and forty-three minutes."

He frowned. "I worry about the things you find entertaining."

"You should." The response was wry. Then, she waved him off. "Go talk to your sister." Before he disappeared, Kai heard her call his name. He appeared through the door again. "Could you apologize to her for me? About...you know?"

With a chuckle, he agreed, "Sure." And then he left her. He didn't want to. After today, he doubted he would ever be able to. He knew damn well the moment he met her that she was somewhat addictive. And he knew after he'd kissed her that he wouldn't live a day without seeing her. And he knew the more time he spent with her that just a few hours with her wasn't enough. The more he knew her, the more he wanted to know. And now he knew her body. He knew her sounds. He knew her breasts, her thighs, her clothed clit. He knew her the only way any man in the whole damn world didn't know her and now a second without her felt like decades of starvation.

"Oh good, he's dressed," Julianna muttered deliberately loud enough for him to hear. Kai shut the door behind him, crossing the room to the tiny living room that was in the same space as his bed.

"Good to see you too, Hermana." He sat in the sofa adjacent the one that she sat in. His elbows rested onto his knees.

"I'm not even going to ask about what's going on with you and your assistant..."

"Sounds like you're asking," he countered.

"All I'm going to say is that it should stop."

The incredulous chuckle that Kai held back would have shaken earth's core if he allowed it to leave his throat. "Since when do you have a say in my love life?"
