When the Uber dropped me off at home, I could see the lights going crazy through the windows. Was I actually ready to be back? I was ready to see Colby. I'd been away from him for too long, and my phone had been completely powered off since I'd been released.

I sighed and opened the door. The party was in full swing, music blaring and people dancing. Kat and Sam were dancing together, definitely not leaving room for Jesus. Kris, Celina and Adam were all in a group screaming the lyrics into their imaginary microphones. Nate, Corey, Jake, Seth were all jamming out next to them, jumping and hollering.

"I'm back, bitches!" I screamed over the music. Every head in the room swiveled in my direction and Sam came towards me, bear hugging me.

"I was so worried about you, Maddie." He said. Kat, Kris, Celina and Seth ambushed me with hugs next. Once everyone had said how much they missed me, they all stepped back.
"I'm okay, you guys." I laughed. "They put me on medicine and I'm as good as new."

"That's good." Kris said, excited.

"Yeah, you scared the shit out of us when you woke up puking. I had flashbacks." Celina added, causing everyone to erupt into laughter.

"Wait, where's Colby?" I asked, looking around.

"M-Mads?" I whirled around just as Colby reached the bottom of the staircase. "I'm right here, darling."

Tears stung my eyes and I ran to him, throwing myself into his arms. He held me tightly, as if he didn't want to let go.

"I missed you." I cried. "I love you."

"I love you, too." Colby' s lips met mine and he cupped my cheeks, wiping my tears away as he kissed me.

"Hey, this is no way to party!" Sam hollered. I pulled away and looked at him. "Another case of White Claw!"

Drinking wasn't the best idea so I didn't. When Seth and Colby, the two who could hold their liquor the best, started acting drunk, I cut everyone off. Nate, Corey, and Jake had all passed out on the couch, Celina and Adam had already gone to the guest room, and Kris was chilling in the recliner, half-asleep.

"Go to bed, Sam." I sighed, stuffing pillows under the boys and throwing a blanket on them.

"I-I'm fine." He slurred.

"You're drunk, Sam." Kat said, grabbing his arm and leading him towards the stairs. "We're going to bed."

I moved over to the counter and grabbed two Ibuprofen and a water bottle for my own boyfriend. He was nonchalantly leaning against the stairs, his oceanic eyes watching my movements with a hint of what could have been exhaustion or lust flashing in them occasionally. As soon as I flicked off all the lights and the music, I grabbed his hand and led him upstairs.

"This way, Colbs." I said, leading him towards my room.

"Do we have to?" He asked. "I wanna sleep with you but I like my bed."

"Sure Colby, we can go to your bed."

Once we'd settled in his bed, I rolled over and looked at him, smiling a little. He noticed the grin and set his phone down before looking at me with his own grin.

"What?" He asked, his gravelly voice spiking my heart rate a little.

"How sober are you?" I replied.

"Sober enough to give consent if that's what you're leading up to."

"No, you and I are both too tired for that. There's something I need to tell you."

"Oh God. What's up?"

"I did the exact opposite of what you told me to. I went and looked at some of the comments on that video and I..."

"Maddie..."

"I understand if you don't want to be with me. For my safety and yours. It'll hurt, but I get it."

"You dumbass." Colby murmured, kissing me. "It's not worth losing you. Nothing is."

"But your fans-"

"Should respect my wishes. You're more important to me than all of them combined. If they don't like you, I don't like them."

"You're awesome."

"I know."

Colby kissed me again before I put my arms around him and laid my head on his bare chest.

"When I said that there was something I needed to tell you, you started with 'oh, God.' What's that for?"

"I thought you were going to tell me you're pregnant for a minute." He sighed, his chest rising and falling underneath me. "Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'd love to be a father, it just would have been a surprise after your ulcer."

"No, I'm not pregnant. I'd like to wait until marriage."

"Well we've already screwed that up."

"Not that, dumbass. I'd want to be married before I have a kid."

"Agreed." Colby yawned.

"Go to sleep."

"I'm trying, you keep talking."

"Yeah, yeah. I love you, Colbs."

A kiss on the head, a gentle grunt and three squeezes was Colby's response. I fell asleep not long after, the comforting sound of his heartbeat creating a soothing rhythm.
