11 - Houston, we have a problem

It's March 19th, I just finished eating as I was watching the news, this Covid-19 is spreading pretty fast and Massachusetts Governor on the 10th declared us in state of emergency, ordered all the campuses to be evacuated by the 15th and from tomorrow we are placed under some sort of quarantine, we basically have to stay at home and exit our houses the less we can.
I can definitely feel my anxiety spark right now, but my main concern goes to my family and Emma.
She's at work today, Ashely got injured last week and she's covering her shift.
I really need to talk to her!

Once I cleaned the kitchen I grab Dodger and head outside.
As I drive to my mom's house I face time all three of my siblings and we talk together of this new situation.
I told them what's my plan with Emma and Scott, that is the only sibling that will remain alone asked if I mind him come living at my house and of course I'm on board with that. Carly has her husband and kids so that's not a problem and I think Shanna could stay with mom, you know so they can keep each other company. She says it's ok with her and that she is going to drive to moms later too.

"Oh hey Chris"
"Hi ma!" I say hugging her
"You heard the news?"
"I did and that's why I'm here" I tell her as we sit in the kitchen "I talked with Carly, Shanna and Scott as I was driving here. Scott is coming to stay at my house and we thought of Shanna coming here, so you won't be alone"
"Chris..."
"Mom we know you can manage fine on your own but we would like for you to have company. Who knows how long we'll be like this, I just don't want you to be alone"
"Thank you" she says bringing me into a hug
"Shanna will come here later so you guys can talk, I think that by tomorrow morning she'll have what she needs here"
"Ok. What about Emma?"
"I'm picking her up at six, I want to ask her to come live with me, I don't think I can do this if I can't see her" I say my voice already trembling
"Chris, sweetie, you have to take a deep breath and not let your brain think too much. Shush it..."
"I know ma...I've been trying for the past couple of hours..."
"Come here" she brings me in a warm hug tanning her hands up and down my back, managing to calm me down a little.
Shanna came by and the three of us talked, she's gonna be all moved in by tomorrow at noon.

By six o'clock I'm standing outside the bakery with Dodger on his leash as we wait for Emma.
My head is hung low but when I feel Dodger pull on the leash I know Emma has walked out
"Hi sweetheart" I say as she pets Dodger head
"Hi" I pulled her in for a hug and deeply breath in, enjoying her fruity shampoo scent.
"Long day?" I ask
"Yeah..."
"Let's go home..."
I drive to her house and once we're there cooking dinner we talk
"I guess you've heard the news too..."
"I did Chris..."
"I was thinking something"
"Ok..."
"I would like for you to come living with me. We're not sure how long this will last but what I'm sure off is that I'm gonna go insane if I can't see you whenever I want to, plus I don't want to miss your birthday next week and I don't want to miss our baby first kick. I want to help you with the pregnancy and I promised you that I would but I can't do it if your not with me" I say as my hands caress hers and my eyes are fixated on her face, looking for a reaction
"Chris..."
"Baby please, I-I can't..."
"Ssshhh, hey don't cry..." she says sitting me down on a chair and going on my lap, her arms engulfing me in a tight warm hug
"Breath" she says pushing my head in her chest, making sure I can hear her heart beating and that manages to calm me down after a few minutes
"I'm sorry..." I whisper
"There's nothing you have to be sorry for baby" she says softly kissing my lips "why don't you stay here and help me pack all my things and in the morning we drive to your house?" She asks still holding me
"You'll come with me?"
"Of course, I was already thinking to ask you if I could stay at your house after I watched the news while I was on a break today..." she admits
"Course I'll help you"
"Good, thanks"
I kiss her lips a few times, ever so softly, enjoying it
"I hope you don't mind Scott being there too..."
"Why would I? I really like your brother, plus it'll be fun having him with us..."
"Yeah"
"Matt already talked my dad into letting him stay with him so he won't be alone"
"Shanna is gonna do the same thing with my mom"
