We're one week away from our backyard wedding and I couldn't be more excited for the wedding but also to see and hug my family again after months. Of course this isn't a classic wedding cause of Covid, Emma and I will sleep in the same bed, she's then gonna get ready in our room with the help of one of my sisters then she's gonna make a first look with both her dad and brother while I'll get ready in the guest room, that for the past months has been Scott room, he's also gonna be in there with me. Our families will get ready at their houses and then come here to help us get ready and make sure the place is good. My mom offered to cook along side with my sisters. Matt asked their baker to do the cake for us of course. Also my dad will meet for the first time Emma, as well as my niece and nephews, we were organizing a family dinner with the kids too but then Covid started so they only talked through FaceTime.
I just collected the mail after going on a little walk with Dodger and there's something for Emma from David. "This is for you baby" I say handing the envelope to her while kissing her head. "Thanks!" "I'll go shower" "Yup" I take my shower and once out I trim my beard a little, and then got dressed and made my way downstairs again, wanting to make myself a sandwich, but once I got there I saw Emma crying, so I sat on the couch and held her to me "What happened?" Scott asks "Don't know...just got here. Baby? What's wrong?" I ask while pulling her on my lap as Scott rubs her shoulders "Chris..." he says handing me a letter, taking it I start reading...
"My sweet little girl, If you're reading this it means I'm gone. I'm so sorry for leaving my three loves so soon. I wrote letters for both my kids and asked your father to deliver them to you both starting from when you're close to getting married. So yes, if you are reading this it means wedding bells. I can't believe my little girl is getting married, I hope the man you're about to marry will take care of you forever, and treat you just like you deserve to be treated. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet him, I'm sure he's an handsome man, cause I know you always had good taste! I'm sorry I can't help you getting ready on the wedding day, but I got a little something for you sweetie, you just have to open the box with n 1 on it, I hope you'll like it. Love you so much, just know I'll be there watching you! Much love, Mommy!"
"Oh Emma" I say after reading it and hugging her even tighter gently rubbing her belly "I..." "Baby" "I'm okay, I just didn't imagine she..." "I know, that's sweet of her" "It is, I loved it. Scott can you hand me that box?" "Here sweetie" Scott says handing Emma a blue box "Oh...these were hers" she whispers gently tracing the jewelry in the box "These are beautiful baby" "My grandmother gave these to my mom on her wedding day" "Now you have them, and you'll wear a piece of her on our special day" "I can't wait" she says snuggling into me I see Scott snapping a picture of us, then leaning down to kiss Emma's head before leaving us alone.

"What do you say if we start talking about baby names?" I asked her after a while of cuddling, even Dodger came on the couch to comfort Emma "I have something to ask you..." "Go ahead" I say smiling "Would you mind if Elinor is our baby second name? After my mom?" "I think that's a wonderful idea baby" "Yeah?" "Of course, I love the name by the way" "So Elinor second name, I'll let you choose the first one" "Are you sure?" "Yes..." "Well I think I have the perfect name in mind for our angel..." "Care to share it with me?" "Come here" I say She leans closer and I whisper the name in her ear "Chris...I love it. It matches good with the second name and your last name "It's always been one of my favorite names" I tell her right before she pulls me in for and intimate sweet kiss.
Scott and I then proposed to Emma to get ready and go take a walk to the cemetery so she could have a little chit chat with her mom. We bought flower before getting in and we let Emma have her time then as Scott started to walk back with her I stepped in front of the stone that read In loving memory of Elinor Wyler, loving wife and mother 1962-2020 I put my hand on top of and crouch down a little "Mrs. Wyler, I really hope I would have gotten to meet you. Emma read your letter earlier today, we're getting married in a week, and in two months our baby girl will be born. I'm here to promise you something today. I promise to always care for you daughter, to love her unconditionally forever, to understand her needs and fulfill her dreams, to protect her from the bad and to make her enjoy life as it is. I'm sure your watching down on us and I hope you like me. Thank you for taking part in raising such an amazing and strong woman, thank you. Till next time" I kiss the stone and catch up with Scott and Emma "Where were you?" "Just behind you..." "Oh...ok" Emma says and I kiss her head.

The Evans brothers, Chris and Scott, seen walking in Boston towards the cemetery with a very pregnant Wyler Bakery owner, Emma Wyler this afternoon. They bought a flower each and entered the cemetery where her mother lies.
