It was Tom that pulled out from the hug first. "So! What's with you and your stepbrothers, then? Is it something that's ongoing?"
"Hell no! I only had sex with Tudor when I was at school. He was hot and all the girls were after him but I was his dirty secret for a while and then he turned into the biggest bastard ever and just used me...., and let his friends use me too. He mentally fucked me up pretty badly. Made me feel unwanted and worthless."
"Why is it always the hot guys that turn out to be the biggest bastards?" Tom stated, more than asked. "What about the deaf guy, Saxon? He seemed to be acting like you were an item."
"We were until a few weeks ago. I know everyone can be a dick but he's made it an art form. He said he was different to Tudor but in reality he just used me the same as Tudor did. Although he's engaged to be married to a smashing girl called Jennifer, he claims not to be gay but, quite honestly, he's got to be. No one can do the things we got up to together and not be gay. He's delusional. We were meant to be exclusive but Taylor..., he's one of my friends..., didn't trust him, and checked him out. He found that he was meeting other guys at the hotel we sometimes met up at."
"Engaged? Yet sleeping with guys, eh?" Tom drew in a deep breath. "Definitely not the sort to be trusted, let alone liked."
"I know, but thankfully Taylor never liked Saxon full stop. It was Saxon's denial of being gay or bisexual that did it for him...., plus the fact that he's engaged, even though it's a sham engagement. He was well made up that he was able to prove that Jennifer was just his beard..., you know, his cover...., and Saxon was, in essence, a total shitbag."
"Seems like you have a very astute and wise friend in Taylor."
"Yeah! Taylor's good like that. He's always looking out for me. He's going to be picking me up tomorrow. He's at his sister's wedding today otherwise he would have been here and none of this would have happened."
"Boyfriend?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm not sure how you would define our relationship. Taylor's not sure about his sexuality as he has a bit of a private problem that I shouldn't divulge. He's trying to do something about it but it's not a simple quick fix. We're more than just good friends though. He crashes at my place most nights and we share the same bed but there's no jiggy jiggy or anything like that."
"You have your own place? Impressive." Tom sounded surprised that I wasn't living at home.
"Yeah.... My very own passion palace. That's my nickname for it although there's not been that much passion. It's only a rented apartment but it's better than living at home and having Mum on my back about all the guys I would bring back."
Tom raised an eyebrow. "Guys, not boyfriends?"
"Not boyfriends, no. I've only had one sort of boyfriend since Tudor...., a guy at college who was wanting an open relationship so he could go around fucking anyone else he fancied too. Nah! Boyfriends are not for me so I've only been hooking up with guys just for sex."
Tom's eyes widened. He looked shocked. "You're a fuckboy?"
"Sort of," I answered, barging into his shoulder. "If I see a guy I like..., we fuck. No strings. No ties. Simples really. I don't just go with anyone, mind. They have to be hot and packing for me to be even interested. If they end up being shit in bed at least I don't have to see them again, do I?"
Tom playfully nudged me with his elbow. "What does Taylor think about that, then?"
It was a well aimed dig in the ribs reminiscent of the ones that he used to give me. Funny how it's those little insignificant things that someone does that you remember. The familiarity of it makes you feel safe.
