"Aanu, finish your dinner? It would be best if you didn't leave even a single grain on the plate", instructs Abhi.

"I don't like this cauliflower. I can't eat it", said Anaira angrily.

"Aanu, badtameezi nhi", said Akshara angrily.

"No, I don't like it and won't eat it", said Anaira petulantly.

"Anaira Birla, just eat it. I will not tell you again! You will not waste food. Your mother has slaved over that for hours", shouted Abhi.

"I. Don't. Like. Cauliflower", said Anaira slowly to get her point across. She folded her arms across her chest. She is ready to fight her father over it.

"Anaira, stop arguing with me just eat it", shouted Abhi.

"If you want that stupid cauliflower so much, you eat it!", shouted Anaira. She throws her spoon on the plate and stands up so fast that her chair scrapes across the floor. She leaves the room.

Abhi stands and tries to follow her, but Akshu holds him with his arm. "Abhi, please don't", said Akshara.

"Akshu, she hasn't eaten a thing and she's being disrespectful towards you or me as well. Let me go. I have to straighten her out", said Abhi.

"Abhi let me deal with her. Woh abhi gusse mai hai. Aur tum bhi gusse mai ho. Ise baat aur bigad jayegi. Mai baat krti hoon use", said Akshara.

"Akshu trust me mujhe use dant na bilkul acha nhi lagta. Aanu toh humesha meri baat manti hai phir ab kuch dino se woh aisa kyun behave kr rhi hai. Woh itni moody kabse ho gyi", said Abhi sullenly.

"Abhi she is 10. School mai kuch issues honge ya koi aur problem hogi. Don't worry let me deal with her. Tum khana khao tab tak mai use baat krke ati hoon", said Akshara.

"I don't want to eat it. Mujhe nhi acha lagta Aanu ko dant kr", said Abhi with a pout. Akshara laughed and pecked him sneakily.

"Khana khao. Mai dekhti hoon tumhari princess ko", said Akshu and went to her daughter's room.

Akshara reached her room and found her daughter bawling her eyes out.

"Aanu, why are you crying beta? Kuch hua hai kya beta. Kahi chot toh nhi lagi. Aanu bta na beta mumma ko dar lag rha hai", asked Akshara.

"Mumma, I have started my period. I am not a girl anymore", said Anaira sullenly.

"Hain? Yeh kisne kha tujhse", said Akshara. She sat down on the bed and caressed her daughter's hair.

"Mumma, class mai Taniya ne bataya hai sabko ki jaise hi humare periods start ho jate hum woman ban jate hai, girls nhi rehte. Ab aap aur papa mujhe pyar nhi kroge", said Anaira sadly.

"Aanu aisa nhi hai betu. Pehle aap batao how did you know you have started your periods. Apne mumma ko kyu nhi bataya?" asked Akshara.

"Mai jaise hi room mai ayi toh I need to pee urgently. When I went to the washroom, I saw the blood on my panties and then I understood I had started my period", replied Anaira.

"Apke pass, sanitary pads the kya bacha", asked Akshara.

"Yes, school mai workshop huyi thi wha se mile the", replied Anaira.

"Aanu mai apko kuch aur pads de doongi bacha abhi. Apko pads stick krne ate hai na", asked Akshara. Anaira nodded her head in affirmation.

"Aanu apko khi pain bhi ho rha hai kya", asked Akshara.

"No, mumma khi pain nhi ho rha hai. But I feel a little bloated", said Anaira.

"Okay, now come here mumma ko apko kuch batana hai", said Akshara. She settled properly on Anaira's bed. She took Anaira in her embrace and started talking to her idiotic daughter.
