Abhimanyu had two back-to-back surgeries today. He was in the hospital from 5 am. He was on his toes from that time onwards. He didn't get the time to sit for some time. Now, after completing the surgeries he finally got some time to sit and rest. He was rubbing his neck a little to relieve his pain. He was tired and wanted nothing but his bed and sleep without any disturbance. He opened his phone and decided to call his wife and hear her voice. Her voice was his stress-buster. Just a few minutes with her and his day got bright and shiny.

He called her but the call went unanswered. Strange, this never happens. Even during the sessions Akshara picked up his calls or told someone to pick it up for her. His call never went unanswered. He again tried to call her but the result remained the same. The call went unanswered.

"Yeh Akshu mera phone kyun nhi utha rhi hai. Woh sahi toh hai na?" murmured Abhi. He was thinking about all the different scenarios in his mind.

"Abhi, itna mat soch. Woh busy hogi isiliye phone nhi utha rhi hogi. Haa, ek kaam krta hoon maa se poochta hoon. Unhe toh pta hi hoga ki Akshu phone kyun nhi utha rhi hai", murmured Abhi.

He dialled his mother's number and she answered the call after three only. "Hello, maa", said Abhi.

"Hello, papa. Mai Dida nhi Anaira Birla baat kr rhi hoon", replied Anaira cutely. Abhi instantly relaxed upon hearing her voice.

"Hello, bacha. Aap school se aa gye", asked Abhi.

"Uhh! Thodi der pehle. Dida is feeding us food", said Anaira while chewing her favourite chapati with potato curry.

"That's good. Aap Dida ko khana khane ke liye pareshan toh nhi kr rhe na", asked Abhi. His daughter is a fussy eater. If the food is not up to her preference she would not eat it and threw tantrums over it. Only Akshara can handle her tantrums.

"Papa, I am a good girl. I never disturb anyone", replied Anaira. Abhi rolled his eyes.

"Aanu, aap khana khao finish kro. Dekho Ruhi didi aur Shivu bhaiya ka khana finish hone wala hai. Phir aap sab ko park bhi jana hai na. So, just focus on your food. Give me the phone I will talk with Papa", Abhi heard his mother instructing his daughter. Manjari looks after all the kids when they come back from school till evening. It was their daily routine. Kids loved spending this time with their Dida. She let them do whatever they wanted to do.

"Okay, Dida. Ruhi didi eat slow. Aap itna fast fast mat khao", Abhi heard Anaira telling Ruhi. He smiled at her. He has the cutest daughter in this world.

"Hello, Abhi. Kya hua beta tune iss time phone kiya hai. Sab theek toh hai na?" asked Manjari on the phone.

"Haa, maa sab theek hai.  Mai kya ab apni maa ko phone bhi nhi kr sakta", replied Abhi cheekily.

"Haa sab pta hai mujhe. Ab bta mujhe kya kaam hai", asked Manjari.

"Umm, Akshu ka koi phone aya tha kya.Aaj uska koi important session tha kya", asked Abhi. It was Manjari who knew about Akshu's schedule after Abhimanyu.

"Nhi aaj uska toh koi session nhi hai. Aaj toh usey academy jana tha. Aaj subah kuch kha kr bhi nhi gyi hai", said Manjari.

"Maa, aapne usey aisey kaise jane diya. Apko pta hai usey chakar aa jatein hai agar woh kuch khati nhi hai", said Abhimanyu.

"Mujhe pta hai Abhi pr woh kissi ki sunti hi kha hai. Pta nhi keh rhi thi koi important meeting hai aaj", said Manjari.

"Acha okay, maa mai rakhta hoon", said Abhi and cut the call. He cut the call and started dialling Akshara's number again and again. But he got no response from her. Now, he was seriously thinking that something was wrong.

"Akshu, kaha ho yr. Phone kyun nhi utha rhi ho. Tum aaj subah breakfast krke bhi nhi gyi. Are you alright, baby? I am not feeling good Akshu", murmured Abhi. He was pacing in the room trying to call Akshara but he got no response from her end.

He dialled her Academy's number wanting to know about his wife. "Hello, Akshara Dance and Music Academy", said the receptionist on the call.

"Hello, Shruti. This is Dr. Abhimanyu Birla. Can you please give the phone to Akshara? She is not picking up her phone", said Abhi on the call.

"Akshara madam is not in the academy sir. Woh toh around 11 bje yha se chali gyi thi", replied the receptionist.

"What? Are you sure?" asked Abhi.

"Yes, sir. I am absolutely sure. Ma'am ko yha se gye huye bahut time ho gya hai", replied the receptionist. Abhi cut the call after hearing that.

"Hey Mahadev meri Akshu theek toh hogi na? She is not picking up her phone. She is not at the academy or home. She has no sessions in the hospital today. Where is my Akshu, Mahadev? Please uska dhyan rakhna. Mujhe aaj subah se kuch acha nhi lag rha hai. Aisa lag rha hai jaise kuch galat hone wala hai", murmured Abhi. He was pacing in his room and thinking about whom to call when his cell phone rang.

He instantly picked up the phone and saw Akshara was calling him. He took a huge sigh of relief and instantly picked up the call.

"Hello, Akshu. Kha ho tum yr. Pta hai mai kab se tumhe call krne ki koshish kr rha hoon. Tum phone kyu nhi utha rhi thi. Maine Academy bhi call kiya tha.....", babbled Abhi.

"Sir, sir, sir", the person on the other line cut his conversation short.

"Aap kaun bol rhe hai. Yeh meri wife ka phone hai", asked Abhi. He checked whether it was Akshara's number or not. Sure enough, it was Akshara's number.

"Sir, mai Lifeline hospital se sister Meena baat kr rhi hoon. Yeh jis patient ka phone hai unka toh accident ho gya hai. She is admitted to the hospital right now. Aap please yha aa sakte hai kya", said the nurse.

"Kya??? yeh kya keh rhi hai aap?" said Abhi slowly. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. The floor shook beneath his feet. He stumbled and took the help of the chair to stabilise himself.

"Sir, yeh jis lady ka phone unka accident ho gya hai aur woh humare hospital mai admit hai. Aap please aa jaiye", the nurse again said the same thing.

"Is she okay", asked Abhi scaredly.

"I don't know about her condition, yeh phone kafi der se bajj rha tha toh I thought to inform you about the incident", said the nurse and cut the call. Abhi instantly ran to the Lifeline hospital. He didn't think to change out of his scrubs. He didn't inform about the accident to his family too. He just ran to meet his wife.

Within 20 minutes, he reached Lifeline Hospital and asked about his wife. He was led towards her ward and was shocked to see his wife like this.
