A/N The Chapter title says it all

Aaron POV

Aaron slowly got up and walked over to Makaylah, and he gently lowered him self into her lap. Then they they carried on with the game. Mysteriously, Makaylah's hand has happened to appear on his leg, and his hand on top of it. And, Aaron had also ended up leaning back, so Makaylah's head was resting on his shoulder, and her hand had ended up twirling his hair. Total coincidence.

After a while, Aaron glanced over his shoulder, he saw Makaylah's eyes drooping, and he himself had to stifle a yawn.

"Ok guys, let's go to sleep." Averie said, yawning loudly. Everyone mumbled there agreement, and started rolling out there sleeping bags. Aaron placed his as close as he could to Makaylah's without anyone getting suspicious. But Jack also placed his sleeping bag next to Makaylah's. This was going to be a interesting night. Tyler switched off the lights and everyone crawled into there sleeping bags.

"Goodnight everyone!" Averie called

"Goodnight!" Everyone chorused. Aaron instantly fell asleep, his dreams filled with images of a girl with black hair, milk chocolate skin, and brown eyes. In the dream, the girl had taken hold of his hands and led him to a lake. She jumped in, and he followed her, they laughed and played, but when they came up for the fourth time, a hand covered the girls mouth, and her eyes screamed panic. The hand belonged to a white boy, with freckles and ginger hair. He grinned and dragged her down. Aaron swam after her, but no matter how far he swam, he couldn't reach her. Then Aaron realized he was drowning, and most likely the girl was, too. They were both going to drown. Then he realized the girl was...

Aaron woke up in a cold sweat, breath hard. He looked around. And even with no light, he could see that Makaylah's sleeping bag was empty. He knew she wasn't in trouble, though. She had told him she sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and goes outside. He decided he wanted to find out where she went. Aaron slipped himself out of his sleeping bag and crept across the room, almost stepping on a dead silent Connor. He walked through the doorway, and followed the open doors to a balcony on the second floor.

There he found Makaylah. Her arms rested on the metal railing, her hair lifting in the slight breeze of midnight. A full moon cast a gentle glow onto the garden below, bathing Makaylah in moonlight. He silently crept up on her. But she must have good hearing. When Aaron was right behind her, without turning around, she whispered "hey."

"Hey. What are you thinking about." Aaron asked, keeping his voice soft.

"It's just... I see the way Jack looks at me. He has this kind of hunger in his eyes, like he loves me so much he's obsessed. But I think he might be the only one who loves me." She said, the bright light she usually had looked like it was covered by clouds.

"That's no true," Aaron said, kindness leaking into his voice.

"Name one person who likes me." Makaylah said, he eyes trained on the ground.

"Me." Aaron said. With that he grabbed her waist and flipped her around so she was facing him. He stared deep into her eyes, noticing the light had appeared back in her eyes, this time burning brighter, like a flame in a dark room. He pulled her closer to him, then moved his face closer the hers, but leaving a hairs breadth away, in case she wanted to pull away. She didn't.

When there lips met, fire works erupted all over Aaron's body, but the Fourth of July seemed to be happening around his mouth. He held Makaylah close,  making sure that the broken girl in his arms didn't fall apart. Maybe if she had a broken boy, they would be able to help put each other together. They pulled apart, and Makaylah looked at him, the ghost of a smile on her lips.

"You can lean on me (See what I did there)" Aaron said. He wrapped one arm around Makaylah and lead her inside. They slipped into their sleeping bags, and maybe the kiss had done something to his brain, because he whispered "I love you" into the darkness.

And before he fell asleep, he heard a soft laugh, like tinkering bells, and a soft voice whisper back "I love you too."

It was love under the moon.
