Third person POV
Makaylah turned to Aaron, confusion written all over her face.
"Yes?" She said.
Aaron lowered himself to one knee. Makaylah's hands flew to her mouth, and tears sprang into her eyes.
"Makaylah Sophia Walker," Aaron said, making sure not to take his eyes off of Makaylah. "I have known you since we were nine. We met that time when you were sitting in the library and I noticed you had on a shirt from the same class I used to go to. You used to be a friend, but didn't stop there. You went from friend, to best friend, to girlfriend, and now I hope my wife. You have grown to be a caring, kind, beautiful, lady, with a bit of a wild streak. Makaylah, will you spend the rest of your life with me and marry me?" From his back pocket, Aaron pulled out a gold ring, with a baby blue gem in the center.
By this time, tears were streaming down Makaylah's face, but they were tears of joy.
"Yes! Yes I will!" She cried!
Aaron jumped up and wrapped his arms around Makaylah, and kissed her. When they broke apart, Aaron took Makaylah's hand in his, and slipped his ring onto her index finger. Then they sat down on the ledge again, Makaylah's head leaning on Aaron's shoulder, both of them hand in hand. They watched the sun slip below the sea line. When the sun had gone completely below the surface, they both stood up and headed back towards Aaron's car. They drove in silence, but every once in a while, Aaron would look over at Makaylah, and he would see a smile on her face, her finger twisting her ring. When they arrived at Makaylah's house, she looked at him.
"I love you." She said, and stepped out of the car.
Just before she closed the door, Aaron whispered "I love you too." And as Makaylah walked back to her house, she couldn't get the grin off her face.
Sorry this was so short, but, awwwww! That was so cute! Maaron is so going to sail. I was thinking after this book I should do a book where Makaylah and Aaron are spies. Ooh!
