Tofu slowly pries himself out of bed. He never was a morning person anyways. He walks over to his desk and grabs the cyan watering can with his teeth and pours some water over a small plant. It's been the same size for a while now, but Tofu is still hopeful that it grows into something. Even if it doesn't, it's clearly still alive so he'll keep watering it. He gingerly sets the watering can back down and stretches.

Tofu lived on the fifth floor of an office building. It's a pretty nice place to stay, with the entire floor being split into four different rooms. He's only using one of the rooms though, he didn't need any of the other ones. The rooms are pretty run down, thanks to this whole apocalypse going on. Tofu still remembers the day it started, but doesn't like to think back on it. He focuses back on what he was doing.

Tofu looks on his desk for a certain notebook. He quickly finds it and flips it open to the first page, where different lines of text have been scribbled out. Once he found this notebook, he knew exactly what use it should have. To do: Restore Power to the Building, he reads the first non-scribbled out line. He slips on his bag and carefully makes his way outside the building.

The world outside is barren of Pokémon, except for a few zombies. He wonders if there were other survivors out in the city. Tofu hadn't seen any survivors since about four months ago, but the last ones had gone crazy and tried to kill him, so he usually avoided survivors. There isn't that many left anyways, he thinks, Everyone has either been infected or escaped the city.

Tofu follows the many power lines to a power plant, placed next to a river that's at the edge of town. He knows that thanks to the giant wall blocking everyone and everything in the city. The government installed them pretty fast. Like one day they just appeared there fast. It was impressive how swiftly they installed those. Most Pokémon escaped through one of the many gates placed in the walls, but Tofu hasn't.

He doesn't want to escape. This place is nice for him. He gets to do pretty much anything he wants and all he has to do is fear for his life all the time. He focuses back on the task at hand and studies the power plant. It's covered in vines and planks of wood. The door is blocked by both of those things. Tofu quickly breaks the planks and cuts the vines. He wanders into the power plant and shuts the door behind him.

The power plant is like a maze of conveyors and hallways. The air feels heavy, and somehow a fog has set in inside of it. Each step Tofu takes echoes through the fog, sounding like there are hundreds of other creatures inside this one building. Tofu doesn't care that much. It's eerie to him, but a whole zombie apocalypse turns anything eerie to just normal. It doesn't stop him from shaking uncontrollably though. He blames it on how cold it is in the power plant.

Soon he makes it to the end, a giant board of switches and levers. Each one either has a number on it or the words "on'' and "off". Tofu finds the switch to turn on the power plant, and notices that it's still switched on. He flicks the switch and nothing happens. The power plant probably ran out of fuel ages ago. He thinks, and turns to a boarded up window. There's an old water wheel outside, the river still pushing it.

Tofu gets an idea. He goes to the giant switch board and flicks only one on. He realized the numbers on them were building numbers, and hoped that this waterwheel could power just his building. Tofu turns back, just to remember how nightmarish the walk to here was. He sits there for a good ten minutes trying to remember his way back, but his mind didn't map out the path he took and he's left stranded. There was another option though.

Tofu carefully walks against the small lip of the wall of the power plant. Balancing on a platform, no larger than his paws, to not fall into the river. Somehow this was a better option to him than trekking back through the creepy labyrinth that is the power plant. I should've gone the other way around, the window wasn't in the middle of the wall. He sighs, realizing this. Just as he looks away from his paws, a vine is in front of him, blocking the path ahead. He steps around it, just for the lip to break and send him plummeting into the river.

The water washes him away immediately, the calm looking river now seeming like a ferocious stream. Tofu scrapes across the rocks at the bottom of the river a few times before finally breaking through the surface and getting a quick breath of air before getting dragged back down into the water. He notices a large rock embedded in the bottom of the river and latches onto it. It holds him in place as he quickly finds the nearest riverbank.

Pushing off the rock with his legs, he shoots directly for the edge of the river. Tofu makes it to the sandy bank and crawls out of the rushing water. After a few fits of coughing he gets up. His bag is soaked, but fine. He luckily found a waterproof bag while scavenging. 'Well that was interesting.' He thinks, looking around to hopefully find out where he is. A dense forest surrounds him and he gasps in surprise. He knows where he is!

A low groaning makes Tofu jump. A zombie had either found him by pure accident, or had heard him fall into the river and trailed him here. The zombie just stares at him, deciding whether to attack first or wait. Tofu knows it will attack nonetheless and waits for it to move first. It takes a long time for the infected creature to finally launch itself at Tofu. He sidesteps it and quickly turns towards the monster and prepares to fight it.
