Tofu looks for a perfect tree to cut, one which is small but still has enough wood for the bridge. He finds it soon enough. While walking up to the tree, Gazz turns to him. "That is a big tree, this might take a while to cut down." He comments. Tofu shakes his head and prepares to cut it down. Using his hind legs to launch himself up, he uses Iron tail and slams his tail into the tree. He lands as the tree begins to fall, a gash cut into its side.

Tofu runs from the tree, just in case it falls towards him. Gazz looks speechless. "I stand corrected." He responds. The tree hits the forest floor and they both walk over to it. Gazz helps the tree onto Tofu's back and grabs the other end. They carry it to the office building, up the stairs, and onto the roof. Placing it next to the edge, Tofu looks at the hastily made blueprints for the small bridge to their building to the other.

After what seems like forever of cutting the tree into pieces, the planks for the bridge are ready. Using nails and glue Tofu scavenged, they slowly construct the bridge. Sunset hits before one half is even done. "So are we done for now?" Gazz asks. Tofu shakes his head and scribbles on the backside of the blueprint. "We have to put a stabilizer piece. The bridge won't hold during the night without it." Gazz reads out-loud. He sighs as Tofu explains how they're gonna have to put it in.

"Are you sure this is the only way!?" Gazz yells over the breeze that's come in. Tofu nods as he slides off the edge of the building, Gazz holding his back legs to make sure he doesn't fall. Carefully gluing the piece in, Tofu holds the plank in place. After a few minutes he slowly moves back his paw and it holds. Gazz looks down and pulls Tofu back up. He sighs in relief and Tofu smiles. He writes another thing down. "Now the other side." Gazz reads.

They walk down the stairs, tired. The bridge is halfway done and the stabilizing pieces are holding it up. Tofu holds the blueprint in his mouth and Gazz has the nails and glue. After making their way down to the fifth floor, Gazz flops onto the bed. Tofu carefully places the blueprint down. He walks over and grabs the glue. "Aren't you tired?" Gazz asks between heavy breaths. Tofu nods and puts the glue away. "Take a break then, cmon." He scoots over on the bed and Tofu's face heats up.

He quickly sits down next to Gazz. His mind and heart is racing as Gazz lays down next to him. Tofu sits as still as he can. 'He's just tired, don't think of it as anything else.' Tofu's brain tells him. They sit in silence for a couple of minutes. Slowly Gazz's soft snores fill the room. Tofu is mentally freaking out at this point. He finds a comfortable place to sleep while not moving Gazz, and shuts his eyes.

Tofu wakes up in a field. Flowers bloom next to him as the sun rises above the faraway hills. The sky is full of oranges and yellows, stunning him. 'This looks so pretty!' He thinks. Sitting down in a field of flowers, Tofu sunbathes. The warm sun hitting his fur feels nice. He rolls around, messing around and just having fun. Light clouds roll in and the sun goes behind them. Cool wind blows through the field. Tofu sits and closes his eyes, enjoying the sounds of the breeze.

He wakes up in his bed a few minutes later. Tofu stretches and prepares for the new day. 'Finish constructing the bridge with-' He looks over to Gazz, only to find him gone. 'Where's Gazz?' He thinks. Looking around, all he finds is the nails accidentally left on the floor. Tofu puts them away and goes back to looking around for Gazz. His nose locks onto his smell, and begins following the trail. He gets led out of the building and onto the road.

Going through the city is slow and tiring, Gazz's smell mixing with others and making navigating a nightmare. But Tofu makes it to a small camp in an alley. "I will say, you scared me when you showed up!" A female voice says. "Sorry about that. I just found another survivor and had to help them." Tofu recognizes that voice as Gazz. Tofu eavesdrops on their conversation for a few minutes. He really wants to interrupt but decides not to.

'I'm sure Gazz will come back with that survivor soon.'  Tofu thinks, heading back to the office building. He walks in, goes up the stairs, waters his plants, grabs the building materials, and heads for the roof. Building the bridge is slow without Gazz. Tofu isn't completely helpless though, being alone for most of the apocalypse made him able to do a lot of things alone. Just having another Pokémon really helps with the time it takes.

He's almost done with the bridge when Tofu sits on the roof to rest. The hardest part was coming up and he needed all his strength to do it alone. Latching onto the building with his hind legs, he glues one support into place. His entire body aches once the glue finally sets. Tofu scrambles his way back onto the building and lays down. 'Gazz's help would be really nice right now.' His mind complains. He sighs and gets up.

Placing the last support into place, he climbs back onto the building and rests. 'I was not made for this.' Tofu thinks as he drags himself to his feet. He finds a pretty heavy rock and places it on the wooden bridge. It doesn't even creak and holds the rock. He carefully steps onto the bridge as well, and it's still fine. He grabs two more big rocks and walks on. It creaks but holds steady. Tofu rolls the rocks off and smiles. The bridge works really well.

It's night by the time he makes it into his room. His legs are sore and shaking. Tofu lays on the mattress and realizes that Gazz still isn't here. 'Maybe he's staying with that other survivor? She could've been hurt.' He thinks. Tofu gets back up reluctantly and begins putting away the glue and nails. He expects Gazz to walk in any minute, but he doesn't. He goes to sleep wondering if Gazz was lost or staying with that other survivor for the night.
