Morning light trickled through the curtains, and my eyes fluttered open. It took a moment to register my surroundings, and a wave of confusion washed over me. I wasn't in my room. I was wrapped in Harry's jumper, and the scent of his cologne lingered around me. My mind struggled to piece together the events of the previous night.
The sound of the shower ceased, drawing my attention. Harry emerged.
Water droplets glistened on his tanned skin, and his wet hair tousled in a way that made my heart skip a beat.
For a fleeting moment, my gaze lingered, and I quickly averted my eyes, feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks.
"A picture will last longer," he teased, his tone flirty and playful.
I retaliated by tossing a pillow in his direction, trying to mask my embarrassment.
"Fuck you," I said laughing.
Memories of last night flooded back: helping Harry into his room, and falling asleep beside him.
"I'm so sorry for falling asleep, I was going to leave but I guess it got so late and-" before I could finish my sentence, Harry butted in.
"No need to say sorry, If anything, I should be the one apologizing, I guess I drank a little too much," He said smiling.
Realizing I needed to prepare for the second night of the festival, I got out of bed and made my way towards the door.
"Once again Harry, I'm so sorry", I said, before closing the door behind me.
In the hallway, I bumped into Cal, who raised an eyebrow at me,
"Walking of shame, are we?" He said smiling cockily.
I laughed it off, "Wait where did you end up staying last night if I was with Harry?"
"Me and Ethan swapped, but honestly I was happy that I didn't have to deal with a drunken Harry" He laughed,
Back in my room, Faith was already getting ready. We ordered room service breakfast and indulged in a few shots to kick-start the day, the alcohol already making us giddy.
I adorned a sparkly black bikini top and graffiti-covered black pants, accentuating my look with a smoky eye and gold hoops. Faith and I took more photos, our laughter echoing in the room.
"We look so good!" I exclaimed.
"We always do," Faith said, winking playfully.
Making our way to the lobby in our cheerful, inebriated state, we joined the rest of the group.
Harry slipped his arm around me, whispering, "Looks like I'm going to be the one taking care of you tonight,"
My heart started pacing just a little bit faster than usual...
I laughed it off and we all hopped into the taxi, creating a contagious atmosphere.
At the festival, we indulged in rounds of shots and drinks, losing ourselves in the music and the company of our friends.
Simon, in his drunken state, shared heartfelt words, "I just wanted to thank all of you for being individually amazing, like honestly this short break has already made me realize that I am so grateful to have friends like you guys. This is just one of the trips, and there will be many more to come." He cheered, raising his pint.
We embraced tightly, our bond palpable at that moment.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the perfect song, "Lush Life" by Zara Larsson, played.
