The lake outside Valor Lakefront was quiet after the first day of the Grand Festival, but the Contest Hall still glowed behind us. Lights moved across the water like scattered ribbons, and every reflection seemed to remind Dawn that tomorrow would be harder.

She stood on the balcony with Piplup beside her, holding the railing with both hands. Togekiss rested near the doorway, while the others slept inside after the long day. Dawn had beaten Ursula, but the victory had not made the next rounds smaller.

The Top Eight list had already been shown on every screen in the hotel lobby. People kept congratulating Dawn as they passed, but every congratulations reminded her that another battle was waiting. Winning one stage at the Grand Festival only opened the next door.

Piplup leaned against her leg. His meaning came softly. "You won today because you trusted us. Tomorrow is the same sky, only higher."

Dawn looked down at him and smiled, though the smile shook a little. "I know. I just keep thinking about everyone still left."

Tox stood near the door with his arms folded. "Stress before a major event is real. It is not failure. It becomes a problem only if you ignore the symptoms until they control you."

Daniel nodded beside him. "Fear is data, not a verdict. It tells you the match matters. It does not tell you the outcome."

Dawn let out a slow breath. "That actually helps more than pretending I am calm."

Togekiss opened her eyes and lifted her head. Her meaning came calm and bright. "A graceful wing still trembles before the storm. It flies anyway."

Dawn turned and rested one hand against Togekiss's feathers. "Then tomorrow, we fly anyway."

I gave Dawn space after that and called Mom from the hallway. She had watched the broadcast, of course, and somehow she already knew which moments made me nervous.

Mom laughed gently through the screen. "You looked very calm, Ash."

I rubbed the back of my head. "That means the camera worked better than my face felt."

She smiled with the kind of warmth that made the whole hallway feel less cold. "You and Dawn both belong there. Do not forget that your experience is not only pressure. It is also something you can share."

Before I could answer, harp music drifted from beyond the hotel. It was soft at first, almost hidden under the wind, but the melody carried a peaceful strength that made Pikachu lift his ears.

Lillie, Gladion, and I followed the sound into the trees. Nando sat beneath a wide branch with his harp in his lap, playing for dozens of wild Pokémon gathered around him. Kricketune stood nearby, adding a gentle rhythm, and the whole clearing seemed to breathe with the song.

A few Buneary listened from the roots, while Starly perched above him without fear. Even the night wind seemed to move slower around the music. Nando did not perform as if he wanted applause. He played as if he was reminding himself and the forest that battles were not the only way to answer pressure.

Nando paused when he noticed us. "Good evening, my friends. I have made it this far, and that still surprises me. Fortunately, music reminds me to breathe."

I stepped closer quietly, not wanting to startle the wild Pokémon. "I know how that feels. Winning before does not stop the nerves from coming back."

Nando smiled. "Perhaps nerves are simply the heart tuning itself before a performance."

Zoey came from the other path, hands in her jacket pockets. "Then tune carefully. I want our battle tomorrow to be your best."

Nando rose and bowed slightly. "And I hope yours will be the same."
