"Don't fall in love

"Don't fall in love." I muttered to myself, staring at the contract paper. Even his handwriting was so pretty, nothing scrawny or unclear, it was just pretty. I sighed, leaning my head against my office chair, still staring up at the contract. "Don't fall in love." I said again, shaking my head. "Does he think I'll fall in love with him?" I scoffed.

Will I?

I shook my head violently, clearing my thoughts. "Of course I won't fall in love with him. He must've written that rule for himself." I scoffed. "Well, I don't blame him. Who wouldn't fall in love with me? I'm just like that, everyone falls for me-"

"Who are you talking to?"

I gasped, stuffing the contract paper back in my bag as I looked up at Vincenzo entering the law firm. He seemed to be looking at something on his phone, but he put it away and sat down infront of me eventually.

"You didn't answer." He talked again, slumping down on the chair, sighing in relief as he threw his head back. I tried not to let my gaze slip when he loosened his tie, his shirt sleeves folded to his elbows.

"I was talking to myself." I finally answered.

"Why?"

"None of your business." It's exactly your business.

He nodded his head, shutting up, and I almost immediately felt bad for saying that, so I decided to just change the topic of conversation.

"Once the lawsuit is over... what's your next plan?" I asked casually, spinning around in my chair. He looked up at me at my question.

"This is the last one." He replied. "I'll leave after taking care of the plaza."

I felt a pang of hurt at his words. I didn't know why I felt that way, like he was someone close to me. How long had we even known each other? It shouldn't be this hard to let it go, right? I had said a lot of goodbyes in my lifetime, what was another one? Even though I kept telling myself it was bound to happen, I couldn't help but want for him to stay a bit longer.

"Without watching Babel Group crumble down?" I asked.

He gave me a small smile, one that almost looked apologetic. "I think this will be enough to pacify my anger." He replied.

"Oh.." I nodded. "I was um.. wondering if you were planning to stay in Korea."

He looked straight at me, as if I had asked him a stupid question. He stayed quiet for a few seconds, before sighing. "No. I don't have much attachment to this country. I want to leave soon."

Stay.

"So, everything we have going on... this.. whole friends with benefits thing." I chuckled. "It will end too?" Another stupid question. He gave me another smile, though this one didn't seem apologetic. It seemed.. sad.
