I stare outside my classroom window. A bunch of red, pink and orange flowers gently sway in the cool summer breeze.

I roll my eyes at the ugly hibiscus flowers and pick my school bag and lunch bag closing the door behind me. If I had to look at the hideous flowers for one more minute, I was going to lose it.

What was the point of them? They did not even have a fragrance. I had sniffed it to make sure, but it had only ended up with me sneezing because of the pollen in them. As if my day wasn't bad enough, the entire batch of hibiscuses next to my classroom had bloomed all at once and all the flowers stared right back at me.

I kicked the pebbles in my path swinging my lunch bag around wondering deeper into the school campus. The elementary classes were at the entrance while the higher classes were at the back with the principal's office and library.

Today was the last working day of school, the buses had left with excited kids ready for the summer break as soon as all the slam books had been signed and the final bell had rung. But that was hours ago.

All except for me. Daddy had promised he would come pick me up directly from school before we left for grandma's house. But it looks like he will be running late.

I looked at the pink zoop watch I had gotten for my birthday this year, half past four. I had been in the campus for almost 2 hours. I sat on the steps of a nearby classroom and threw my lunch bag next to me pulling the grass around me.

Daddy knew I hated waiting. I had even offered to come on the school bus, but he laughed and said ''I'll be there 10 minutes earlier waiting for my princess. We can eat ice-creams and have some father - daughter time before we pick your mother. We haven't hung out in a long time."

Lies. Lies. Lies.

Ever since the little demon came into my house, it had brainwashed my mother, grandma, grandpa and now my daddy too.

"Why are you pulling the grass?"

I immediately looked up to see a boy looking at me like I'm an idiot.

"It's none of your business. You can leave"

I didn't care if he was years older than me. I was angry.

"It is my business. That is school property not yours. Stop ruining it and leave. Haven't the buses left already? What are you still doing here?"

"Obviously pulling the grass" I pointed at the little pile of roughly pulled out grass that had been unfortunate to face my wrath that day and looked back at him like he was the one being an idiot now.

"You have a smart mouth. I'd be more careful around a senior "

He was right. Seniors in my school bullied juniors all the time and it wasn't good.
