Sannidhi Pov

I still had not heard back anything from Sushanth.

My heart ached thinking that maybe this was the final straw. I was just talking with my class representative, Akash on the phone about his internship when Sushanth had called. I saw the answer button but thought of calling him later as I was already talking with Akash and when I called him 10 minutes later, he was furious and yelled at me for a good half an hour for abandoning him when he needed him the most.

I know this isn't a normal healthy relationship. I had seen my parents, grandparents and even my uncle and aunt in love all my life. I knew what a healthy relationship looked like.

My grandma and aunty keep telling me how I had acted cupid for my uncle Vishal and aunty Aruni. Once when I was less than a year old, my parents had left me with my aunt who had just finished university in charge of me and I had a sudden high fever. My aunty Aruni rushed to the hospital panicking calling for a paediatrician, my uncle Vishal was the one who had treated me. When my aunt couldn't console me, Vishal uncle took me from her arms and showed her how to console a baby. My aunty then started accompanying my mom and me to the hospital until she got married to him a few months later.

But when it comes to Sushanth, I did not want to give up just yet. He was my first boyfriend, my first love and my first kiss. Giving up on him now meant I had to give up us. The past four years. The memories that we had shared. He was just going through a bad phase... who else would stand with him during his hardest times if not me?

"Mumma.. Nidhi is on her phone again" the little demon Eshaan yelled as he ran away from my room.

"I can be on my phone you annoying brat" I yelled back getting up to shut the door the little sneak had opened. Little brothers were an abomination to society specially the ones who were annoying.

"Mumma... Nidhi called me a brat" he cried from the top of the stairs again louder this time.

"Nidhi, don't call your brother names," Mother yelled from down the kitchen.

I grabbed my laptop from my bed and walked out of my room, seeing me the little demon rushed towards the ground floor crying for his mumma.

"Then tell him to not call me by my name. I am 11 years older than him. I deserve some respect too" I say.

"Eshaan baby call her Nidhi akka or just akka. She's older than you right?"

"No Nidhi Nidhi Nidhi" he yelled pulling his tongue out at me. The urge to pick him up like a weed and throw him into the garbage vehicle that comes every morning intensified.

Glaring at him and signing that I will beat his ass the next time my parents aren't home, I settle on the couch opening my laptop. A few notifications pop up when I connect to the wifi.
