026 - Kylola

Kylola weakly smiled as she placed a handful of rare mushrooms in her basket; she was now missing only a single ingredient to make Sharon's favorite meal.

Climbing to the top of a nearby tree, she surveyed the land for an ideal spot to find her quarry, however when her eyes caught sight of a familiar tail moving across a meadow she noted it's heading then rushed back to the watch house, where Bora was napping.

Bora: Is something the matter?

Kylola: Freone is near, two, maybe three ticks. I would like permission to check on him.

Bora: *concerned hum* Granted, I doubt he would be on this side of the forest without reason.

Kylola bowed to Bora, sat her basket down, then preceded swiftly after Freone. Within a couple of hours she was able to pick up the faint scent of his scent blocker and follow it to him. As he came into view, Kylola could tell he was waiting for her.

Kylola: It's been too long, it's good to see you.

Freone: I wished I could say the same.

Kylola: *pained* W-why?

Freone: Because I was supposed to not get caught... I'll admit making scent blocker was never my strong suit; I'm assuming that's how you found me?

Kylola: That's how I tracked you, yes, but I found you when you crossed the rainbow meadow.

Freone: I see... I knew I should have gone around... Though, why were you watching the rainbow meadow while on border duty?

Kylola: I was gathering food, and was searching for blue thistle.

Freone: Did you have another fight with Sha-su?

Kylola: No, I just wanted to do something nice for him.

Freone: *warm smile* That's good, you two are always cute together.

Kylola: *blushing slightly* Why are you out here?

Freone: Straight to the point, as always. I can't lie to you, so would you accept me not answering that question?

Kylola: *unamused stare* No.

Freone: *disappointed hum* I see... For whatever reason, A-su has requested my urgent assistance with something.

Kylola: *concerned* Acia ... it's strange that she would request assistance from anyone other than Teran... Teran should be quite busy, but Acia has never accepted that as an excuse before. I trust you know no other details?

Freone: I do not. Trying to get her birds to say more than instructed is rarely successful. Though once or twice I have succeeded with the right bribes. *chuckle*

Kylola: *faint smile* *normal expression* If Acia needs urgent help, I'm sure Bora won't mind if I come along with you, especially as it's been exceedingly calm the past few days. Though I'll need to stop at another watch house to send a message back to him.

Freone: *defeated sigh* You're going to report me regardless of what I request, aren't you?

Kylola: *affirmative nod*

Freone: May as well bring you along then. On the bright side, this means I can take the shorter route to ... a place I'm not going to mention since then at least you can't report that too. I don't know why A-su wanted me to not get caught along the way, but she rarely does things without good reason.
