Waking up at first light, Teran cuddled Wafit for a few brief moments until his mother rolled up and announced that it was time to start moving again.
After a couple of hours, the group reached a narrow pathway between two rocky mountains.
'''
Acia: This is our meeting spot with Fre-su and if needed our last stand. Yi-su, Wa-su, your jobs are to get this place and the area leading into it rigged up with as many traps as you can muster.
Wafit: Should we begin now?
Acia: *affirmative nod* The more time the better. Hopefully your work will be for naught, but don't let that discourage you, since if it isn't for not then it could be the single strand of rope that saves the day. That said stay together, and be mindful of yourselves. This is a dangerous area even without an impending battle.
Wafit: Understood.
Yineh: Are you and Te-su going to help while you wait for Fre-su? Not that we mind doing everything ourselves, but a little guidance would be nice... We're not exactly trap experts, you know.
'''
Edru landed nearby and made a variety of gestures and noises towards Acia.
'''
Acia: Seems you'll have to be on your own. The chewa are on the move. Me and Te-su will make our way to Mirra-su. When Fre-su arrives give him this map.
'''
Acia removed a folded piece of paper from Kenta's satchel and held it out for Yineh
'''
Acia: And tell him to follow the star dashed route.
Yineh: *nervous* U-understood.
Acia: Don't look so worried, you'll do fine.
'''
Teran gave Wafit and Yineh a hug.
'''
Teran: *low whisper* Promise me, if things get bad you won't hesitate to run.
Wafit: I-I can't make that promise.
Teran: *staring intensely into Wafit's eyes* I appreciate the sentiment, I truly do, but the most heroic thing either of you can do, will be to get to the watch house and report in. So I'll ask again promise me, that you won't hesitate to run.
Wafit: *hard gulp* Alright, I promise.
Yineh: I'll promise, but only because you're twisting my arm. *raspberry*
'''
Teran pulled Wafit and Yineh in tighter for a moment before releasing them and following behind his mother.
'''
Acia: Once we're on the other side, you know the plan.
Teran: Indeed, I'll rush ahead through the quick route and supply direct assistance for Mirra-su, while informing her of your plan.
'''
Upon reaching the other side of the canyon, Acia gave Teran a hug then broke away from him. As Teran made his way towards Mirra, he began smelling the thick scent of blood, followed by pained screams. As he came into view of the clearing, his eyes widened at the sight of Mirra dripping in blood as she stared murderously into the eyes of the sole living human which she was holding above her head by the neck with a single hand despite him being covered in thick metal armor and nearly twice her size.
