VERENA
There was a low hum of an engine that's been berating my ear for the past few hours, and I couldn't help but wake up and search for the cause just so that I could kill the noise.
Slowly, my eyes opened to a bedroom I did not recognize, accompanied with a vague feeling that we were moving. Wherever the hell I was, it sure wasn't Paris anymore.
"How was your sleep?"
My head followed the direction of his voice. He was in the corner, nursing a glass of liquor and holding his phone with a vise-like grip. His eyes were dark and heavy like he hadn't gotten any rest at all.
I sat upright and leaned against the headboard. "It was fine," I muttered. "How long was I asleep? And where are we?"
Kai took a sip of his liquor and placed the glass on the table next to him. "Six hours. At the moment, we're on a plane to Vermont."
I blinked. "Vermont?"
He nodded and stood. "Green Mountain State. Burlington. I'm sure you know the rest." Kai slowly walked over to me and sat down on the bed next to me. "We just need to handle business. We have around two hours left before we land."
"Then you should probably be productive and use those hours to get some rest," I suggested.
Kai shook his head with flattened lips and pressed his forehead against mine. "I'd be better productive if I were inside you," he whispered in a low voice.
I snickered, "Idiot." I rolled my eyes and tried to push him away, but Kai held my wrists to his chest and caught my lips in a deep and unending kiss. With such a simple motion, he managed to wake my entire system up and alight it on fire all at once.
He deepened the kiss and pulled me against him, one hand snaking behind my nape and the other on my waist. I hadn't even realized he was moving me until he took my spot on the bed and I landed on his lap.
When I felt him harden against me, I moaned and moved back and forth against the fabric of his trousers, letting the friction drive me. He groaned in my lips and pulled me closer to him.
His hand left my nape and started to venture down his pants, but I grabbed him by the wrist and pulled back. He didn't look at all surprised when I pushed his hand away and shook my head. "I'm not letting you fuck me here."
"Wasn't going to, but otherwise noted." Kai pushed back my hair and kissed my cheek, then started sucking on my neck. I wrapped my arms around him and lifted my chin to give him more access.
"Too afraid to join the mile high club?" I heard him murmur in a low voice into my neck.
I bit back a laugh and shook my head. "What makes you think I haven't already?"
Kai breathed into my neck and stopped suddenly, pulling back to stare at me with tired eyes. "With who," he asked monotonously.
"No one," I replied. I kept myself occupied by running my hand through his unruly hair. "But if I did anyway, I didn't think you would care."
"Of course, I care. I barely know anything about you, Rena. I've told you a whole great deal about myself; you've met my friends and family. I want to know more than what you show me and the rest of the unit."

Romance"What do you want?" he whispered. I knew I should've stopped then. A part of me wanted him so bad, which was why I knew I shouldn't let myself have him. The rational side of me was begging for me to stop. "You," I whispered. It was too bad my desire...
