KAI

The continuous shouting and flashing of cameras definitely made my night less enjoyable, but what was expected from an event where I was the guest of honor?

People shouted my name, demanding me to turn to this side and answer this question. I turned to my left and I was greeted with more screaming and squealing from the group of civilians watching the red carpet event.

I knew if they were here, Crave and the others would've teased me about it until I decide to carve my ears out.

Many protests sounded when I finally climbed up the stairs and entered the cavernous and illuminated ballroom. A large glass chandelier lit the entire room and its revelry that never seemed to wane.

As if I had announced my presence, everyone turned to where I stood and proceeded to greet me and introduce themselves. Some quickly shook my hand and told stories of how they traveled from the other side of the world just to meet me.

After a few minutes, I decided to excuse myself from the attention and moved to the bar. Some deigned to follow me even after I told them to not do so, but one quick look at them made them quickly turn around and join back in the crowd.

"See? What did I say? One look from the man and he manages to make them shit their pants." Scar told Crave as they sidled up next to me alongside Glitch and ordered their drinks to the bartender.

I rolled my eyes at them and immediately downed the first shot. "Don't worry, man." Scar patted my back with great force, which he immediately retracted after I looked at him blankly. He straightened himself and grabbed one of the shot glasses. "The event will be over before you know it."

"Oh, come on. It isn't that bad." Crave suggested as she lifted her glass to the bartender for a refill.

"What? Gonna find another poor innocent soul to victimize tonight, Crave?" Glitch goaded.

She mocked him in verbatim and rolled her eyes. "Ha-ha, very funny." The bartender refilled her glass which she drank without relenting. "First of all, no person that I sleep with for pure fun and lust is ever "victimized". And second, I'm not Crave tonight."

She hopped down her seat and fixed the long red dress she wore, putting emphasis on her neckline and the exposed collarbone. "I'm just Yuna."

Yuna walked off with hips that swayed vehemently towards one of the men that had introduced himself to me as Aaron Lopez earlier.

Scar scoffed and drank his shot as well, then took off the opposite way of Yuna's boisterous laughs.

"Those two. Always jealous of the other." Seth murmured next to me.

I quietly nodded in agreement. There was always an unspoken tension between Yuna and Roman- Scar's true identity. We often ignore it for the sake of our sanity, but it is acknowledge at times when it threatens to cleave our team apart.

As they are clueless to the feelings of the other, they are just as unaware of how awkward Seth and I get whenever they flirt with the other. Which was how he became my best friend in the first place. Shared trauma, if I may be so dramatic.

He drummed his fingers on the table, bringing me out of my thoughts. I called the bartender to refill my drink again as he dropped his voice to a whisper. "Five o'clock. Your favorites."
