Surprise I'm not dead! I do believe that this is a bit overdue (by like over a year). I have had 0 chances to write because life so I apologize for that. Sorry for the shorter chapter but at least it's got some feels :)

Y/N POV

Inej told me to meet her and the rest of the crew the next night at the Crow Club in an office in the back, away from everything else.

I put on my signature all black outfit that allows me to move around and yet is still comfortable at the same time. I wear a mask that covers the whole bottom half of my face and put my hair in a loose braid (only if your hair is long enough if not just ignore that). Making sure I have at least two knives on me, I pull my hood over my head and leap silently from building to building, making my way to the crow club. There was no way I would be going here unarmed.

When I have the building in my sights, I slip down the side of the one I'm on and continue on foot towards the club. Surprisingly, no one stops me from entering. The Crow Club was packed, with almost every table full. I quickly scan the room and see Inej in a dark corner of the club, talking to someone I couldn't see.

I swiftly make my way over to her as the person she's talking to slips into another room.

"Where are we supposed to go?" I ask from behind her. She jumps a little in surprise, but smiles when she realizes it's me.

"I was waiting out here for you. Everyone else is ready," Inej pauses, raising her eyebrow. "Why do you have your mask on?"

I shrug. "I'm not sure who I'm dealing with here."

She nods. "Understandable. C'mon, they're waiting."

She grabs my hand, dragging me into a back room with now windows and walls draped in black and crimson. A shiver goes down my spine before a voice snaps me out of my thoughts.

"Good. You're here. And you brought your friend." Kaz states as he sees us walk in. I get a good look at him. He has dark, jet black hair and sharp features that go well with his tall, lean build. He wears a black suit, and he grips his signature cane with his gloved hands. His words hold enough venom in them to let people know he means business.

"Who would I be to turn down an invitation like this?" I say, letting confidence show through in my voice before surveying the others in the room.

There was an angry looking Fjerdan man tied to a chair with his eyes locked on Brekker in a stone cold glare. Another girl was standing across the room, staring at the Fjerdan with an unreadable expression. Inej moved over to stand next to her, while I stayed in place. In the corner was a Zemini boy from what I could tell, but most of his figure was shrouded by shadows. Next to him was another boy with golden curls doodling on a scrap of paper that laid on a small circular card table. Everyone in the room couldn't have been over 19... strange. Such a young group.

Kaz began talking and explaining the heist. He explained everything about a new drug called jurda parem and what it does to Grisha. A cold feeling crept its way into my body, and every instinct I had told me to run very far in the other direction. I kept my feet glued to the floor as Kaz went on about the Ice court and the impossibly high reward for this job.

The Fjerdan scoffs. "It's suicide," he says in his thick accent. "You cannot break into the Ice Court."

A laugh comes from the other side of the room, and the Zemini boy shifts forward. "Not with that attitude," His features, now illuminated in the dim light, seem vaguely familiar.

Kaz straightens. "Jespers right. It'll be hard, but not entirely impossible..." Kaz continues to talk, but I barely hear him. Instead I stare down the boy who casually surveys each of us, posture relaxed as he slumps in his chair.

And suddenly my blood runs cold. Becasue there is no way that it could ever be true.

"Jesper?" My voice cracks ever so slightly, barely audible. Kaz pauses and sends me a questioning glace. Jespers eyes find mine, a look reflecting the one on Kazs' face.

"Thats the name, love. Don't wear it out," He jokes lightheartedly. A smile crawls onto my face. Hes still got that troublesome sense of humor.

My hand reaches up and carefully removes the mask from my face. My eyes don't leave his, and I can see the recognition flash behind them as the smile falls from his face.

My brother springs from the chair that he's in, chest rapidly rising and falling as he takes in my figure. The room is deathly silent, so I hear clearly when my name falls from his lips.

I smile and nod my head, confirming his thoughts, then I'm swept into a tight embrace. I hug back just as fiercely.

"I thought I'd never see you again," he chokes, pulling me closer. "We woke up and you were gone and I–"

"It's ok, Jes," I reassure in a soothing voice, holding back tears, "I'm ok."

He pulls away and cups my face in his hands, studying me. "I thought you were dead. All this time, I thought you were gone–"

"Sorry to interrupt," Inej intergects, clearing her throat. "But what is going on here?"

Jesper hesitantly removes his hands from my face, but he doesn't leave my side. "'Nej, this is my sister, Y/N."
