I was crying.
Tears that belonged to a sadness that I couldn't fathom.
Why was I so sad?
This time, the void felt empty. I looked around and realized that Heaven was nowhere to be found.
"..Goldfish?"
There was no answer. I decided to walk, though I didn't have any clue of direction. I walked for what felt like hours, days even.
All of a sudden, I felt cold.
The temperature had dropped to a degree where I'm sure that if I could see, I would be able to see my breath.
"Stop, kid."
"Goldfish? What's going on? Where have you been? Where's Heaven?"
"Turn back."
"You want me to turn around? But I've just found you!"
"It's not your time in this life. Turn back."
Confused, I could only look forward into the darkness. I decided that I should listen to the old walking bones and headed in what I assumed was the way that I had come.
The further I got, the warmer I became.
Suddenly, I started hearing music.
I heard some crying, some laughter.
I stopped for a second and tried to look around again, but I was only met with the dark void.
As I continued on, the noises started getting louder. I started understanding voices. Someone was crying and begging God to help somebody fight. Fight? Fight what?
Just then, a light orb showed up. It reminded me of my previous fireflies, but it was much bigger.
I reached towards it, and as it engulfed me, I heard, "See you next time, kid."
