Oliver
This week we don't win the game which I try not to feel too bombed out about. I think about the party that Aurora is accompanying me on. She gave me permission to use her full name after I put up a fight earlier this week.
I remember the way she looked at me when I said "Your name is too pretty to be discarded". She looked happy and after trying out her name on my tongue a few times, she gave in.
Aurora
Too pretty.
I'm waiting for her as she heads into the bathroom to change into her party outfit. I'm not sure what I am expecting from her but when she returns in a baby pink corset top I try not to stare at her. The sleeve is basically not there as it is so thin and I try not to look at the small inch of skin showing on her stomach. I let out a low whistle at the sight of her, obviously failing on my attempts to not stare at her, and she hugs her body with her arm.
I wonder how it would feel for me to hug her instead. She sighs and walks past me. "You owe me three books."
I catch up with her,"I thought it was two." I don't really care about how many I'm buying her, I just want to make conversation.
She looks back at me and her gorgeous hair falls down her back,"It was. But I had to go out and buy this shirt, so…"
"Right", I say, trying not to ogle it like I did before. It just makes her look so much prettier if that was even possible. She stops by my car and I open the door up for her. She gets in and I follow suit. Twenty minutes later, we are at the party and Aurora has yet to stop complaining.
"Come on, try to have a little fun", I tell her as we walk through the front door. The music is so loud I can hardly hear properly and there are so many people that my hands immediately search for hers. She has made it seem okay that I can hold her hand first and I've been using it to my advantage. I walk through the house and to the kitchen where it is quieter.
A few girls are wandering about and when they see Aurora they stop in front of her. I watch as they compliment her, her shirt, her hair, her makeup and Aurora modestly smiles at them.
"Thank you", she says and the girls look up at me.
"You have everything huh", one of the girls with red hair says but not unkindly.
"Oh Oliver. Yeah", Aurora says and the girls giggle. She giggles along with them and I feel a sense of pride.
"Well come find us if you want to chat", the other girl says and Aurora nods. The three of them leave and I watch her turn back to me with a smile on her face.
"They liked me", she tells me and I laugh.
"Of course, you are kind and stunning", I say automatically and I watch as her face changes color. She giggles and then grabs a water off of the table.
"Are you going to drink?" She asks and the tone of her voice makes me think she might not want me to.
"Do you want me to drink?", I ask her and she shakes her head.
"I mean you are the driver and I can't drive but if you want to, you can. But—"
"I won't drink. Come on let's find a Gatorade", I say and walk around the counter. I find a blue one and take a sip from it before capping it up and placing it in my pocket. We walk out of the kitchen and into the living room where there are so many people it is hard to move through.
The music gets louder so I turn us around and head to the back of the house, past the kitchen. I hear Austin's voice and head out the back patio. I find him sitting on one of the patio chairs with a lot of people sorrounding him. When he sees me, he stands up and heads to us.
