Oliver
The opposing team is tougher than the rest, they have us running around like headless chickens. It shouldn't be this embarrassing but it is. And I've been feeling anxious knowing that this is my last season and if I want to get recruited, I need to be seen. I need our team to look good. So, when it is half-time, I head off the court and try not to grimace at the fact that we are 7 points behind. I hear the other team's laughter behind me but I make my way to the stands blocking the sound out.
I find my parents looking at me with worried eyes, I make my way to them and let them comfort me in their own way. And then I look at Aurora, who had been watching our encounter. It reminds me of the first week she came to watch me as my "girlfriend". She had looked at my parents and I and had frowned, I know now why that was.
"Aurora", I say slowly as I make my way to my girlfriend. She looks incredible in my jersey, her hair up showcasing her sharp features. She is strikingly gorgeous. She giggles as my hand makes its way on her waist and I pull her toward me. She squeals as I use my hold on her to hoist her up on her leg. I don't give her a chance to respond when I place my lips on her; the kiss is short though. I lick my lips when I pull away and say,"New lipgloss?"
She nods, placing her hand behind her back and pulling it out of her pocket. She holds it out to me and I take it with a questioning eye. Strawberries, I realize that's the flavor. I look up at her and say,"We're losing, principessa."
Her lips downturn and she says,"I'm sorry, Oli. I know, I was on the edge of my seat." I smile at the fact that she was invested in watching me play.
"I'm stressed. I don't know how I'm supposed to beat them when they are this good", I whisper my eyes on her lip as I lean in and press the tube of the lipgloss. I place a finger under her lip and push it up, placing the product onto her lips. She looks down at me intrigued but I only apply it thoroughly onto her lip. I smile at how pretty and plump her lips look now. "Give me a bit of courage", I add closing the gloss and placing it on the small pocket of my shorts. Her eyes follow, frowning.
I pat it and say,"You'll get it back, soon enough." She frowns deeper and I squeeze her waist making her smile now instead. I lean toward her and say,"Got any advice?"
I watch as her eyes flash with something really quickly and her lips widen to a smile. She swerves so now her lips are close to my ears and says,"I can give you a reward though. After the game. Preferably in your room." My cheeks heat up at how suggestive her voice sounds. When she pulls away she has on a bright smile like she hadn't just whispered something dirty in my ear. I move my hand higher to her waist, just under her breasts and pull her in for a hug. Her hands go to my neck and I need to be even more closer to her.
Only, I can't because the marching band is winding down which means the game is about to start up again. "So, is the reward only for if I win, or an effort thing?", I whisper to her when she pulls away. She looks at me and her lips start to curve up,"Only if you win."
She throws me a wink that hits me straight to my stomach, making butterflies erupt. Only she could make me catch butterflies because in retrospect it sounds so childish, but it's true. I can't ignore the flutter in my stomach. With a final wave to her and my parents, I make my way back to the court just before the game starts again.
"That your girl?", his annoying voice pulls me away from my remincising of her whisper in my ear. I look to my right to find the captain of their team approaching me. Even though I'm not the captain, Austin is, he finds his way to annoy me every chance he gets. This time he chose Aurora as bait.
"Hope you weren't looking at her too hard, Creep", I say managing to not roll my eye. The name I used wasn't a nickname, the kid is actually named Nathan Creep; his parents set him up for that.
