Oliver
When I walk into Aurora's room, I find her behind the bed. I walk further to see that she is grabbing clothes from her drawer. I cross my hands over my chest and watch her. She grabs the clothes and puts them in her bag, I wonder where she is going.
Is she leaving me? That queatin really tests my vulnerability. She can't leave me, not this week. Not when the voices in my head have been getting so loud and the discouraging ones are so hard to get rid of. If I don't get scouted this week, basketball will not be in the cards for my future, and I really need it; it's the only true talent I have.
I take a seat on her bed and say,"Leaving me principessa?" My tone is light and friendly but what if she is planning on leaving. Her house is free now, maybe she wants to move back home. She tucks in a piece of hair behind her ear, and tucks the sleeping PJ I bought her the first day, into the bag. She looks up at me and I want to lean down and press a kiss to her overly plump lip.
"Oliver", she says her voice full of surprisement. I hum in response and she continues,"Jude invited me for a sleepover."
Jude, the girl that Aurora works with at the cafe. She is sweet to my girl and knows how to make her laugh. I like that she made a new friend. I nod and point to the bag,"For how long?"
"Hmm", she hums walking up to me and then placing her legs over my knee, taking a seat on my lap. I place a hand on her waist to steady her and she says,"Just for the weekend. I'll leave Friday night and be back Sunday afternoon."
"You're leaving me for two days?", I say feigning hurt, but it does make me a little sad. Aurora and I have been inseparable and I liked that.
"Why? Does that make you sad?", she says teasing me and I sit up straighter at her newfound confidence. Her hand trails up to the collar of my shirt.
"Of course. What are you planning to do for the two days?", I ask her.
"Well, Jude wants us to be ultimate sleepover. And then the next day she found us a spa place, which then we will spend the rest of the day getting our nails done and stuff. And then have another sleepover and then I'll be back", she says. That's a lot.
"Really?", I say my hand making its way up to her jaw. "And will you miss me?", I tease, but really wanted her to say yes. To say that she would miss me as much as I'd miss her.
She giggles, and the sound is a song to my ears, "Between sleepovers and the spa..." She trials off a smile edging on to her lips. She is playing with me and even then I feel a little hurt. She giggles louder and then says,"No, I'm kidding, amore."
Love, she calls me love and everytime she does it makes me want to kiss her. She makes me feel good her words and her accent when speaking italian. I linger at her every word regardless. I chuckle at her attempt at a great joke and say,"No, have fun with Jude. I'll be practicing for the scouts next week."
"Oliver, they will notice you, and if they don't they are going to notice your overly cheering girlfriend in the stands", she says and I laugh at her statement. She has been trying to reassure me about my basketball stresses but I've been in too in my head.
"Thank you", I whisper to her before pulling her in for a kiss. Her lips linger on mine and I take the initiative and kiss her harder. She smiles into the kiss and that prompts me to hold her closer to me, our chest together. I love the feel of her against me. I pull away with a soft nibble to her lips and place my forehead against hers.
"I love you", I say to her knowing that she will repeat the phrase to me, but in italian. I love it because she says it to me. Just me. When we are in public I whisper the phrase in italian too just so she is the only one who can comprehend it.
