Divorce on the way

The Proposal

TK knew that he wanted to marry Carlos someday but was scared to bring the topic up. Carlos was painting the walls when he got a call from an unknown number. He was tempted to ignore it but chose to answer it instead.

"Who is this?" The second that the person introduced herself, Carlos wanted to hang up. He chose to find out what she wanted first.

"This is Amanda Rollins. I know that you are highly tempted to hang up right now but please don't."

"You have 5 minutes to tell me why you called before I hang up and block this number."

"I wanted to apologize for how I treated you last month. I know that there is no good explanation for it but please let me try?"

"You have 4 minutes." He set a timer for 4 minutes so he would know when to hang up and block her number.

"Thank you. TK has never had the best luck finding great guys and I was afraid that he found another bad boyfriend. I'm so sorry for judging you before I even knew you." Carlos was aware that Amanda was serving a three day suspension without pay and didn't know what to make of her apology.

"You aren't just saying this to get the suspension to drop are you? Because if you are, then I have to warn you, it won't work."

"No, I am genuinely sorry about everything that I've done to you." While they were talking he was still painting. About 6 hours later TK got home after spending his day with Paul. TK got worried when he saw Carlos laying on the couch, not moving.

"Are you dead?" While he asked the question he also poked Carlos in the arm.

"No, I am very much alive, just exhausted." TK saw Carlos slowly sit up on the couch so TK could sit next to him. "I had to switch out Cody's crib for a plastic one because the wooden one was giving him splinters. I then spent 4 hours getting those out of his hands. And then I started painting the walls. And while I was doing that your friend Amanda called to apologize. After that, I got a good portion of the pool done. I also went grocery shopping since we are out of snacks. I got everyone's snacks for tomorrow's group hang. I also got your Oreos, 4 packs since I saw you were out of them."

"Marry me." TK almost laughed when he saw Carlos stop dead in his tracks and slowly turn towards him.

"What?"

"Marry m-"

"Yes a thousand times yes." Carlos pulled TK into a soft yet loving kiss before resting his forehead and TK's. As soon as they broke apart Cody started crying. "I should probably go and take care of him." While TK was upstairs taking care of Cody, Carlos was moving the couch to be able to get to the loose floorboard under it. Carlos had bought an engagement ring about 5 months prior but didn't have a good hiding place for it. Until they moved here.

He discovered a loose floorboard pretty early on. He put the couch over it so no one risked tripping over it. He recently chose to hide the ring there. Carlos gently pulled the engagement ring out of its hiding place. It was a copper ring with 4 thin lines of silver, 2 rows of diamonds and a thick black line in the middle of them. TK came back down the stairs to find Carlos sitting on the couch again holding a ring.

"Who's the engagement ring from?" It wasn't hard for TK to find out that it was an engagement ring. But it was hard for him to walk towards the couch. He thought that he knew heart break until he thought that Carlos was in love with someone else.

"Myself. I bought it about 5 months ago." He felt his heart drop even further. He would never accuse Carlos of cheating, but the fear was still there.

"Oh, who is it for?"

"You."

"What?"

"Wait a minute, did you actually think that I bought it for someone else?" They talked everything out and Carlos reassured TK that he wouldn't cheat on him. They went upstairs after that to cuddle and relax.

"You know I only love you, right?"

"Of course I do, I just, I didn't want to be cheated on again." TK was playing with the ring that was now on his finger while laying his head on Carlos's chest. They silently cuddled for an hour before they both let themselves fall asleep for a bit. TK was once again in that dirty basement tired to the chair. How did he get here? He was also blindfolded again. Did Alex and Trayvon break out of prison and kidnap him again?

He could hear Carlos coming down the stairs telling him that he'd be alright. "Baby?" TK was so glad that Carlos was rescuing him again. He didn't hear a response but he did hear a gunshot and then a body hit the ground. TK then heard Alex talking to him.

"I wish I could say that I'm sorry for what happened to your little boyfriend but I'm not. The little bitch deserved to die. And you deserve to see what happens if you try to move on from me." Alex then removed TK's blindfold. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust to the light and when they did he was horrified by what he saw.
