You open your eyes and yawn. You don't hear anybody, so you assume that you're the first one up. You turn on the light in your room and find some fresh clothes to put on. Once you get dressed, you leave your room, making sure that you're quiet. You look at the cockpit.

Strange... Not even Tech is awake. You think.

You make yourself some caf and sit down in one of the chairs in the cockpit. The ship is currently landed on the planet that your mission is on. It's dark outside, and you believe that the sun won't rise for a while. You have to admit, there is something peaceful about being on the Marauder.

"Morning, Y/N." You hear Omega say.

You turn around. "Y/N? Why are you up so early?"

"Why are you up so early?"

"I'm not sure. I just woke up and was wide awake. You should go back to bed. We have a long time before our mission."

"I'm wide awake."

You sigh. "Alright..."

~

Omega sits in one of the chairs next to you.

"Are you excited for our mission?" She asks.

"I guess."

"Are you sad that you can't see Captain Kaldor?"

"Sad is the wrong word. I'm just frustrated. He's been mean to me from the start. He won't let me reunite with my father."

"Why not?"

"He believes that I'm a mistake. He told me that Crosshair wouldn't want to see me."

"I'm sure he'd like to see you. You're his daughter."

You sigh. "It's... complicated."

~

After a little while, Tech walks over to you and Omega.

"Oh. You are awake."

Omega nods. Tech makes himself some caf. You notice that the sun is beginning to rise.

"Y/N, can you help me fix the control panel?" Tech asks.

"Sure."

Tech takes a few sips of his caf and sets it down. He sits in one of the chairs and takes out a screwdriver to take off one of the metal panels. You're familiar with how to fix the ship since it's where you grew up.

"Can you hold these two wires so I can solder them together?"

You nod and do what he asked. You make sure that your hands are out of the way of the soldering rod so you don't get burnt.

"There." Tech says.

"That was fast." Omega says.

"Yes. It is an easy fix." Tech responds.

~

After the sun rises, everyone else comes into the main area of the Marauder.

"Are you all ready for the mission?" Hunter asks.

"I'll get my things." You respond, going back to your room.

You get your rifle and some extra ammo. You know you won't need it for a supply run, but your father always told you to keep it on you. You go back to the others.

"Why does Cid keep giving us all these boring missions?" You groan.

Echo turns to you. "Don't worry. I have an exciting one planned after this mission."

"Which is?"

"I'm not telling you."

"Of course you wouldn't."

~

As soon as you leave the ship bay and go into the town, you see Imperial soldiers marching around.

"We'll have to be fast." Hunter says quietly.

"What were her instructions again?" Echo asks.

"Cid told us to talk to a bounty hunter called Seth Fidrin." Tech responds.

"A bounty hunter?" Hunter repeats. "No, no, no. That's too dangerous with Omega."

"I'll go, but I'm going alone." You say confidently.

"Alone? We can't risk that either." Hunter says.

"Last time I went alone I made it out. Besides, the Empire is looking for all of you except me."

"You got knocked out."

"After that..."

~

After a lot of convincing, the squad finally agrees to let you go on your own. Tech told you which way to to go. Once you walk for a while, you see that you've reached it.

"Great. A dark alleyway. Not suspicious at all." You mutter.

"So you're the one Cid sent." A voice says.

A figure jumps down from one of the buildings in the alleyway.

"Are you the bounty hunter? Seth Fidrin?"

He nods. "I am."

He hands you a briefcase. "This is what Cid needs."

"Can- can I go now?"

"I have nothing else to give you. You look like a rebel, so I would advise getting out of here soon."

"I'm not a- fine." You say, leaving.

~

You turn on your com.

"Where are you guys? I have what Cid wanted."

"We're by the ship."

"Alright. I'll head your way."

As you make your way to the ship, you bump into someone. You look up and see that an Imperial soldier stands in front of you.

"Ah, sorry." You say, trying to move.

"Identification, please."

"My... what?"

Your voice is higher. You're panicked, and it's showing.

"Identification. Your individual chain code."

Come on, Y/N. Think of something. You think.

"It's right here." You say, moving your hand close to his face.

You throw a punch at his face.

"After her!"

~

A group of Imperial soldiers begins to chase after you. Your chest feels tight.

"Start the ship! Now!" You yell into your com, gasping for air.

"What's going on?" Echo responds.

You can barely breathe. You're unable to tell him what's happening. You see the ship. The door to enter lowers down and you jump on. The soldiers continue to shoot at your ship as Tech moves the ship away from the bay.

"Y/N! What happened?" Omega asks, concerned.

You frantically point to your neck. Hunter runs to your room to get your inhaler. He runs back and hands it to you. You use it a few times and are able to start catching your breath.

"An Imperial soldier asked for my chain code... I punched him."

"Nice job!" Wrecker laughs.

You bury your face in your hands. "I punched an Imperial soldier."

"You're more of a rebel than you think, Y/N." Echo mutters.

~

Tech sets the course for Ord Mantell to talk to Cid. You sit in one of the chairs in the cockpit.

"I heard your comment earlier." You say to Echo.

"I was only joking, Y/N. I'm sorry."

"It's fine. What's our next mission?"

Echo smiles. "It's a mission from an old friend."

"An old friend?" You repeat. "Oh, you don't mean him."

"You know how much I trust him."

"I haven't seen him for years."

"It's okay. It'll be just like old times..."
